Everything was first class. We were greeted pleasantly at Reception. Our room was lovely and the staff were outstanding. A special thanks to Rachael and Ryan in the Stables Restaurant. The food was superb. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. In our room we had robes and slippers, water (still and sparkling). Chocolates on your pillow, all of which were replaced every day, and a lavender spray for your pillow with a cammomile "breathe in" lotion, absolute heaven!! Beautiful duvets and Egyption cotton sheets. Best 3 nights sleep ever!! Could not fault this hotel attention to detail is magic. We have stayed in many hotels in the UK many many times and this one rates the very best. Well done Crown Plaza Chester you really do know how to treat your guests.

Room Tip: the standard room we had was lovely but when we stay again (and we will) we might upgrade for more l...

I stoped here on 24-26 may. The hotel is a great location to see sights ect.. but the hotel had its faults aswell. The room i stayed in had no heating and i was moved to another room which that had no heating aswell.. i was told at first "saving on energy green foot steps ect" and was given a portable heater. One good thing regarding the heating issue was the hotel manager chris was great and gave us some comfort on the bill for me a great hotel manager in the wrong hotel. crown plaza is an old building needs a revamp esp the bedrooms.

This hotel is perfectly placed for easy access to shops, bars and restaurants. Bar prices are reasonable for a hotel of this standard and the rooms are very comfortable. We arrived at 5.30PM on the Friday and had no trouble parking as was the case with other reviewers. My take on the parking is that it is sufficient however what I think visitors may find is that when guests check out they do not leave straight away. If you have paid £7.50 for 24 hrs and in no rush to get home then why wouldn't you leave your car and spend the day shopping? This tends to result in the car park being full especially if you are arriving between 12:00 and 17:00. May be a suggestion for the hotel to ask leaving guests to park in the adjacent multi-storey after checking out and perhaps subsidise?

Anyway, aside of that the staff are friendly, attentive and really make this hotel what it is. From reception, to bar and housekeeping this I'd a team who demonstrates that they care so well done!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and we chose the hotel due to its spa facilities and it's location in Central Chester.

Ex arrived at the hotel just after 2pm and we were advised that our room wasn't ready yet and to go for a walk around Chester and it will be ready. An hour and forty five minutes later we returned back to the hotel and our room still wasn't ready, although we did see a group check in whilst we were I. Reception nod went straight to their rooms. It seems priority is given to the coach companies arriving with a number of guests......very poor service really.

The hotel facilities are very good and although the outside of the hotel is very ugly looking, once inside you then see the quality and the good facilities this hotel has to offer and you are only a 2 minute walk away from the centre of Chester.

We used the spa facilities twice and the pool is pretty small but each afternoon / early evening we were the only two people in there.

I stay in Holiday Inn's and Crowne Plaza's all over Europe and this is one hotel that I would not stay in again or probably recommend to family, friends or colleagues.

Chester is a 'must see' location and take time to walk the walls and walk the city.....it's totally beautiful and heart warming.

Stayed at the Crown Plaza for a special occasion this weekend. Excellent welcome from reception staff, who were warm and friendly. The room was large and spotlessly clean. We had a mini bar (a rarity it seems these days!) and robe and slippers. We had to pay for breakfast £10 each but it was lovely and staff were, again friendly and warm. I would recommend this hotel.

I have been on crutches for three weeks and very dependant on my wife to look after me so thought a couple of days away in a nice hotel near my son and his family would be a pleasant rest for us both. The crown plaza at Chester proved to be ideal, the staff are amazing, helpful, nothing too much trouble, friendly and attentive.
We had a standard rob with a pleasant view over the race course and welsh hills and because of my incapacity and mobility problems the staff looked after us extremely well especialy in the bar and for meals etc.
We had a couple of questions about local restraints and pubs which were all answered professionally and very accurate.

Thank you all the team at the crown plaza we will return.

Room Tip: Views over the racecourse and welsh hills best, restraunt good plain cooking, good choice at the ba...

17 lads celebrating a 50th birthday, we found the rooms had been booked as doubles - not twins. The rooms were too warm and I take exception to paying £7.50 to park here after forking out over £100 on the room. I would not recommend this place to anyone and advice travellers to stay outside of the walls as nothing is too far away to visit
