“Excellent Service”

After reading some comments on here I was open minded to see what The Mill Hotel had to offer. I was not disappointed at all. We stayed in the Club Room (floor 4) which was lovely, king size bed, very comfortable, sofa by the tv area. bathroom was big and bright, very hot water so be careful if you have small children. Only downside in the bathroom was the toiletries, a bit basic for the standard of the hotel, but not a problem at all.
The restaurant was excellent, staff remembered you and greeted you friendly. I have crohn's disease and the chef was great as he changed part of the menu for me. We were on the valentines champagne weekend which included a 4 course meal, definately worth eating in the restaurant. Breakfast had such a good variety and lots of it, even upto 10am when breakfast is finishing.
My husband was hungry late at night and the staff recommended a great Indian restaurant locally (unfortunately there was no room service this weekend) they did not mind us eating it in our room.
We will be back to The Mill, it is very convenient to Chester centre so no need to use your car once parked up. There are 5 car parks around the hotel.

this hotel is fantastic, been loads of times as a couple but took the kids this time. the room was absolutley gorgeous, with spa bath, we only stayed i nite but had 2 baths each. The only thing i think the hotel should allow you to dois join in the disco later after the food has finished. but you carnt unless you dine and at £29 per head is a lot for 4 people (£120). but that is only down fall

Booked here at the last minute and upon arrival was a little unsure as to what I was going to find! However i needn't have been worried. Greeted by very friendly reception staff and given a map of town and told where we could visit...excellent. Room also excellent with more facilities than you can sometimes find in hotels of similar price (excellent gym and fitness centre). Great breakfast...but ate too much! On the monday night there was a fantastic jazz band in the bar area, very impressed. Only fault really was some channels for the TV were not available due to digital switch over but i believe they are working on this. Highly recommend this hotel.

Just come back from fantastic weekend at this hotel. four ladies on champagne break. We wasnt expecting much as price very cheap, but we have a wonderful time.Stayed in basic room was ok small but comfy. Dinner was fantastic first class service, followed by disco. suitable for all ages.
spent one day chilling at the pool, only thing could do with some relaxing chairs. breakfast ,service and food excellent.
location great short walk to shops. booked through the hotel as this seemed to be the best deal. just cant wait to go back.

I stayed in The Mill hotel for one night. Location for Chester city center is absolutely fine - it's a short walk away.

I was rather disappointed with the room. It was very small and in need of redecoration. The walk from the reception to the room was unpleasant. You have to pass through the dark bar area and the hotel corridors and lift smelt 'old' (this fitted in the dated decor).

I only ate Breakfast at the hotel which wasn't extensive although adequate. I will not stay at this hotel again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Stayed in the Mill Hotel New Years Eve until 3rd January.
Our room was over the bridge in the newer part of the hotel and was spacious and comfortable. Chocolates and Champagne were waiting for us when we arrived.
On New Years Eve we had dinner on board the Restaurant Cruiser quite an experience, cruising up and down the Shropshire Union Canal. The food and service was outstanding.

Dinner on the other 2 nights was included on our package, and again was much enjoyed.

We will be thinking of repeating the trip again soon.

My wife & I stayed here last August & really liked it so when our friends asked for ideas for a couple of days away over the Xmas we suggested The Mill. I can say that once again we were delighted with our stay, great bar (loads of real ale & cheap too) good bar food, Canneletto restaurant very good, pool & spa were great. Only 3 minutes walk into town, girls went shopping, boys did a walk around the city walls, and visited a few pubs! We ate at GALS on the second night, go there! It was very good value for money, top service and only 5 minutes from the hotel.
