“A central and friendly hotel”

A friend and I stayed here for two nights. Despite current building work, the staff worked hard to minimise any disruption and we were impressed with the friendly and helpful staff at reception and in the restaurant. It was a short walk along the canal into the town centre, although wouldn't use it in the dark as not well lit. The dinner in the restaurant was very good value. The only slight quibble was the choice at breakfast, which was slightly more limited than we expected. Nevertheless it represented very good value for money. the spa and swimming pool looked lovely, although we didn't use the facilities on this visit. I certainly intend to return with my husband and would recommend it to friends.
The bed was very comfy, although the decor is slightly dated and lighting a bit dim for older eyes! Good and modern TV though and water piping hot.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the canal. The rooms are solidly double glazed and the nearby road caused...

This hotel is very conveniently placed for access to the city and has good car parking .It has charging points for hybrid cars.
The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was of a good standard and well presented. The restaurant is very pleasant and has a good atmosphere.
Bedrooms are clean but would recommend an upgrade from standard if you would like a little extra space.Facilities are good and towels particularly fluffy||.
Leisure club good and free to residents.
Value for money very good and drinks are very reasonably priced.
Monday night jazz night very enjoyable.

we stayed at the mill for 2 nights and found the staff, particularly the door staff, very nice.the room was good but i didn't really like being in the disabled room with the bars on the bath! breakfast was good even though the dining room was very busy.

Room Tip: don't have the disabled room unless you need it

Just had two days away at this hotel which is very handy for central Chester. The hotel comprises two buildings either side of the canal. The older side houses the main restaurant, reception and bar. The more modern side houses the Leisure Facilities and smaller bar. We opted for a room on the modern side having read these rooms were quieter. We had a 5th floor room which was of a good size, and quiet. Sofa-bed not very comfortable to sit on for any length of time.

Breakfast was good, and car-parking free (if you're early) a bonus. The leisure facilities were also reasonable, albeit busy.

Staff very pleasant over dinner and breakfast, but real trump card is location - less than 10 mins to walk to the main shopping area.

Room Tip: Choose higher floor, canal facing room for quieter syat. Lower floors likely to be noisier with liv...

visited for a spa day…. treatments were lovely, facilities were nice too…. only downfall was light lunch a disappointment, not much choice but overall for the price the package was good value so not much to moan on about and I did enjoy the day.

We enjoyed a two night stay and found the hotel to be of a very good standard. Our club room was in the new part of the hotel and was large, clean and very comfortable with all the facilities expected. There was one small problem in consistantly obtaining and maintaining the right balance between hot / cold water from the mixer tap based shower.... yes it can get hot!!

Food was very good at both dinner and breakfast and the bar provided an excellent choice of drinks / beer which proved welcome whilst catching with the sport on one of many TV's. Leisure facilities are excellent and provide a perfect way to relax after a few hours pounding the streets and shops.

xternal building work is going on but you dont really notice things and although space is limited due to contractors vans etc the large car park can cope easily.

Overall good value for money, excellent location for the city centre which is easily walkable and very good customer service.... we would certainly return

Room Tip: We chose a Club based room on the new side of the hotel
