Went on the hotels lunch river cruise, 4 course lunch. Lovely afternoon and for something a little different or a family treat it is ideal. I have to say the food was very good with a very relaxed atmoshere. Did not stay at the hotel but looked pleasant and even at lunchtime lots going on.

Room Tip: they also do an afternoon tea cruise and evening dinner cruise

spent the weekend at Chester and stayed at the Mill - Beautiful location on the canal and a sight to be seen at nightime! Very close to the city centre with ample parking.
Pleasant staff on reception, around the hotel and in the dining room.
Excellent value for money, tidy rooms with lovely, thick towels.
Can't wait to plan the return visit.

Checked into a supposed double room in the oldside of the hotel .To find a 3/4 bed no cold water from the shower the top just spun around. A bar manager sent to help!!! Moved to a newer room although that was a little tired. Not at all what i was expecting. The staff it has to be said were friendly and helpful . Parking was free that was a bonus.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new build

Located in old warehouse buildings on both sides of the canal (connected by a covered walkway) we selected a "Club" room overlooking the canal and enjoyed this the quieter side of the hotel with views of the occasional barge or family of ducks on the water.

We did not avail ourselves of the restaurant of an evening choosing to eat out but breakfast was a plentiful buffet of satisfactory quality.

For visitors to Chester by car this is an ideal location being 10 min walk from the City centre and boasting ample free parking.

The room was clean (fresh towles each day) though a little "tired".

Overall this was a good value hotel and we will use it again should we return to Chester.

Room Tip: A club room overlooking the canal was our preferred choice.

I recently celebrated my birthday with a group of friends at the Mill.I had previously stayed there between xmas and new year, and enjoyed this visit equally. For the price it is an excellent hotel, the rooms are well furnished and clean. The spa is very relaxing and the gym well equiped. We went on the hotel barge for the dinner criuse, this is well worth the money.the food is very good and the journey very interesting going through locks etc.and the capitan entertaining. We also ate in the Real Ale Bar,again very good value. On the whole no complaints and no hesitation in recommeding The Mill.

Room Tip: For a little extra it is worth upgrading to a Club room.

I have stayed in this hotel twice and have been underwhelmed both times. The hotel itself is in a good location on the canal close to the centre of Chester. The bedrooms are tired and in need of and update. The bathrooms also need some of the grouting replacing and a bit of an update. The breakfast was of an average selection. The food in the restaurant was lovely but the service wasn't great. I was a female, dining alone, but next to a male only company meal. The noise was very loud and I think I was forgotten about at first as more that one table who arrived after me were served before me. Over all it's an average spa hotel, better, can be found in the surrounding area.

Our two night stay at the Mill Hotel was incredibly good value. As well as use of the lovely pool and spa we also had free use of great quality bikes to explore the canals and river side. The hotel is very conveniently situated for the town centre, and staff were extremely helpful. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but the breakfast was ample to set us up for the day.
