The location is in Bridge Street, just down from the shopping area. There is an outside area where one can drink and maybe take lunch. We ate inside and the decor is really good. The service also was good but I was a little disapointed with one dish which was not really hot. However the overall cost was very reasonable and the place is great for a midweek lunch with friends or business colleagues.

It was my wives birthday and I went onto their website.Looked in dining offers. So the day before I rang and asked about the Wonderful Wednesday Special. £22 each for thee course and a bottle of wine to share.
When I telephoned to book. Excellent response ,pleasant and helpful from Emma. Sorry Sir ,"but the offer you mention is for Wednesday evening and your booking is for 1300hrs,but I will check and see if we can do it." She then came back on the phone and said .Yes .The chef has said that we will be able to do it for you.
Incidentally no mention on the website that it was evening only.

Well we arrived at the appointed time .Mentioned to a female member of staff ,dressed all in black.
"NO "she said. In a stern and patronising tone.

We felt embarrassed the restaurant was half full.

Eventually spoke to the General manager who honoured our booking.

The food was excellent and one waitress called Tasha had excellent interpersonal skills and made the experience memorable.

Have taken a while to post this as was soo angry - have also emailed mailing list with details to be removed! No response received

We spent our wedding night at Oddfellows in Dec 2010 had an amazing time and service so regularly pop in for drinks since moving back to Chester last year - this was the first time we have ventured into to restaurant (a treat from my husband) - after having some trouble securing a booking at a reasonable time for a Friday - pressured to come early we were frustrated to find ourselves the only people in there for at least 45 mins.

Service was rushed, we were asked at least 4 times if we had finished the starters - then the minute these were removed my husband nipped to the loo and the food arrived for our mains.... I asked for these to be kept warm as clearly on a romantic night you don't wish to eat alone... he returned and so did our muddled order - steaks wrong way round and not really very hot by this point - the starters were also not very hot actually - we didn't make a fuss as this had been something we had been looking forward to for some time and we didn't want the whole mood of the evening ruined.

Continually being asked if something is ok, is also rather intimidating... even the waitress seemed surprised when we left a minimal tip (£1.50 change as we just wanted to leave), so I am sure she was also not really comfortable with the treatment and level of service we received.

Over £150 wasted on food and drink - left by 9pm

We stayed at Oddfellows for 2 nights and decide to dine here on the Wednesday evening. We had a cocktail each before dinner which were excellent (£8 each) was very quiet in the bar and restaurant but it was a Wednesday Evening. They had a special Wednesday menu which was 3 courses and half a bottle of wine per person which was £22.50 which we thought was great value and decided to eat from this as the normal menu was around £18 for a main course. Food was all well presented and tasty, and the dining room was nicely decorated and looked over the garden seating area. Service was a bit slow at first, lots of young staff, but during the meal they were efficient, we just had to wait about half an hour to get the bill. Would definitely eat her again if they had the special 3 course menu on or otherwise would just visit the hotel to have a cocktail in the garden area as it had a nice feel to it

15 ladies ate here the night before my daughters wedding. Very excited and happy we had booked private dining with a set menu of around 5 choices for each course at a cost of £28.50 per person for 2 courses. Very attentive service on arrival and a lovely garden table outside for drinks before moving inside an hour later to dine. We paid for drinks as they were brought to avoid a huge bill and some guests were not drinking alcohol so fairer all round to pay as you go. The food order was taken and then we waited and waited. Finally the 4 starters ordered were brought and those who'd ordered enjoyed them. An hour later we were still waiting for mains although the staff did bring bread baskets around twice as the wait was so long. Finally after speaking to the staff twice the mains were brought. There was some confusion as the staff had mixed up the order and brought chicken for the vegetarian . Food was OKish, Luke warm and not much of it. Vegetables were not included in the set price and were charged at £3 per portion of carrots, potatoes etc: At this point the staff disappeared, we were not asked if meal was OK. Eventually plates were cleared and desserts arrived a little quicker. We had arrived at 6 and time now 10:15 so we asked for bill as we had the big day tomorrow. The bill was shocking! £28 charged for the bread, 16 meals charged not 15 , they had billed us for their mistake with the order and £120 of drinks that had been paid for but not "knocked off " the bill by the staff. Altogether an overcharge of almost £200! The Manager eventually reduced the bill but we still paid £40 more than we should have. The experience ruined the evening which should have been a wonderful prelude to the Wedding.
