Visited in the after-math of windy Wednesday that had felled a large beech tree in the pub car park but despite this all seemed serene with attentive friendly staff.
Called in as a pit-stop as we did the walls circuit - also much recommended - wished we had been able to visit to sample what looked like an interesting menu as well as a wide & eclectic beer & wine choice.

Spacious, nicely furnished, family friendly pub. Better than average menu, friendly staff, luxury loo's!
If eating, you need to book at the weekend.

Ran into here for a quick lunch, wanted something more than a sandwich as my dear friend had driven over to visit. We had to be quick as I was in work. Poured with rain as we made our way across from city centre and we wondered was it worth it? However warm lighting, inviting atmosphere and we knew it was a good decision. Told the waitress we had very little time and ordered lunch and wine, it was just right. Only sorry we couldn't linger on. Very content.

We were a group of six friends that experienced this restaurant recently. The atmosphere was nice & the building pleasant. The service was good. Food & drink was on the expensive side but this was expected & would have been acceptable if the experience had been better.
Two of the selected starters on a menu of about five or six selections were not available. Of the six main meals we had, four were acceptable & two were very disappointing.
I couldn't honestly say that the food or experience was any better than a decent pub experience.

I would imagine it would be a pleasant place to have a quiet drink in the gardens in the summer.

Great service& food even though the pub was really busy with large groups booked in the private dining rooms.
Will be back soon!
