Found this almost by chance whilst walking the walls, it was reassuring to find out that It had opened this year as we had never noticed it before. As an interior it is very impressive, well thought out and welcoming. We only had coffees but they were really good but the price reflected the quality of the surroundings without being over the top. The service was excellent. We looked at the food menu, interesting but a little expensive for a casual, hunger gap to fill, lunch. Definite place to stop for coffee when you are strolling the walls.

Stopped by The Architect for a drink on Friday night. I expected it to be busy on the first Friday in December, however, busy is an understatement , this place was heaving and not in a good way. Diners were crammed in- I felt really sorry for those adjacent to the bar as they practically had people sitting on them.Forget Christmas atmosphere think more packed commuter train. Only 3 staff serving on the bar and at £11.50 for a beer and a glass of wine I dont think I'll be hurrying back.

We decided to eat at the above on our way back to the Racecourse car park.Coffee was excellent.Staff very friendly and helpful, only one criticism the waitress didn't come to our table and take the order. We had a vegetarian platter which was very enjoyable. A very nice ambiance about the place. Will eat here again.

We chose The Architect on the recommendation of friends. Our group of 11 arrived at 12.30, got drinks and then waited until after 1 o'clock for anyone to take our order. We got our starters at 1.40 and then our wait began. At 2.25 we asked where our main course was and we were told that our order had been taken at 1.20? We eventually got our meal at 2.45. On the whole the food was ok but nothing spectacular and the roast beef was drowning in gravy which actually masked the lack of flavour. Overall we felt it was disappointing and our American guest didn't enjoy a typical Sunday lunch experience to its best. Doubtful that we would return.
