Got to admit, in all my years, ive never had to walk out of a restaurant, but this one takes the biscuit (pappadom)
Tattenhall has a few eateries, with good reputations, but think we must have picked the donkey with this one
Arriving at 18:45 we were seated, 10 mins later we were asked if we wanted a drink. When the drinks arrived, we ordered pappadoms, a starter & main course. Pappadoms were quick, but stale. The starter arrived 30 mins later - quite good (Bhajis & a mincemeat / egg kebab). Starter plates were taken 30 mins later. Whilst there we noticed quite a few couples looking at each other with the same irritated expression, indicating wheres the food. A couple close by had to wait 30 mins to be asked what drink they wanted!!. All this time i must add, loads & loads of carrier bags full of takeaways, were being passed through the restaurant to be collected, leaving seated customers in a state of what could be described, as bewilderment, as to the poor table service. After 2 hours waiting for our maincourse we went to the desk & cancelled our meal, paid for what we had & left. We then called at the local convenience store, & bought a tikka masala for 2, went home & probably heated it & ate it faster than if we had stayed.
2 points to be noted, which we mentioned before we left:-
They appear to be a takeaway, primarily with a restaurant bolted on the side
At no time in 2 hours, despite having empty glasses did any one ask us it we needed another drink or indeed apologise for the length of time it was taking to complete the order.
