Around 9,00 in the evening about three weeks ago. We went to The Little Owl. in Chester.
We explained to the waitress we had not booked a table, I had drove through the night from the north to get to the hospital in Chester where my daughter was very ill. So I was on my last legs after being in the hospital all day.
The waitress said she would check to see if the chef was still available to cook. She explained the situation to the chef and he was more than happy to cook for us. This was good of him as he was finished for the night.
The meal was one of the best I had tasted in a while..We started with onion rings and chunks of chicken in breadcrumbs. . For the main course we had the chicken with chips and BBQ sauce plus sweet corn. There was so much chicken on the main course that we could not eat it all. It was very moist and tasty..
The blond waitress was great! Sorry she did give me her name, but I have forgotten it, I could not fault the service nothing was too much trouble . The Little Owl was very clean, The inside of the building is all on one level. It had a large car park to the side of the building.
The first course plus main meal with two rounds of soft drinks for three people was under £40 which I think was good value. I could not fault, and would strongly recommend it. I noticed they were doing two for the price of one on Sunday lunch. ( I do not know what this would be like), but if the meal I had was anything to go by then give this little gem of place a try. If I am ever again in the area I will be back. to The Little Owl
Oh and many thanks to the chef and the waitress for fitting us in at such short notice, you were great in our hour of need. My daughter is home now and recovering. Thank you
