“Lovely hotel, friendly staff, beautiful restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2010

Stayed here for our wedding anniversary and had a lovely time. Spa facilities nice, though the fact that kids are allowed in the pool most of the day is not particularly conducive to relaxing around there. Played tennis, good courts. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant in the evening, was pleasantly surprised at the surroundings and the prices. Room was nice, if a little warm. All in all, a good trip.

We stayed at the hotel after a spa day - would highly reccommend the spa. We found the hotel excellent - we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff on reception and the room was well decorated and furnished. Tea and coffee making facilities provided. We had dinner in the hotel - a little on th expensive side for what you get. Portions are not huge and you need a side dish with the main course as it is more of a garnish that you get. But we enjoyed it . Staff / service was excellent , very attentive. But a bowl of side salad free with the main course should be served. I had the cheese board for desert - all local cheeses- really tasty. Breakfast was good. All in all a good hotel.

This was bought as a treat for my daughter and myself and other spa days have been ok- but left me feeling more rushed than pampered. But this spa was exactly right. From the minute you arrive and exchange your shoes and clothes for slippers and a robe you enter a calm tranquil atmosphere. It decorated beautifully and is filled with sweet smelling candles. We enjoyed the tea ceremony and then a tour of the spa and the pool area. We then had our 2 treatments which were excellent - we both agreed they were the best we had ever recieved . Part of the deal was lunch - we opted to add a starter and dessert and found that these were not expensive and were good quality. Drinks are not included in the deal but lemon water is available freely and is well worth trying- it tasted great. After a relax around the pool our day was over all too soon. As we left we were even given a gift bag with some small goodies. Staff were professional knowledgeable friendly but not intrusive. Food was good treatment exscellent and the atmosphere brillant. Would highly reccommend and will be going again.

We have stayed at the Grosvenor on a number of occasions and have been so impressed we booked our daughter's wedding there.

From the minute we made our first enquiry until the time we left to return home the attention to detail of every aspect of the wedding was dealt with superbly which meant we had no worries and a stress free time which allowed us to thoroughly enjoy the build up and the day.

These sentiments were echoed by every guest with sincere comments regarding what a fantastic location for a wedding (they are licensed for civil weddings ), what superb staff and facilties, the organisation and efficiency of the staff in setting up the room for the marriage service followed by the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations and last but not least the quality and which combined to make our special day the "the perfect day"

If anyone is looking for a venue for a wedding - and I guess for any celebratory function I would look no further!

The quality of this tea was amongst the best we have ever experienced. We decided to use a Telegraph 'Tea for 2' promotional voucher that gave us afternoon tea for 2 of us for £10. As requested we booked ahead, but found ourselves entering the restaurant 15 minutes early. By the alloted hour we were tucking into 5 different sandwiches. This was followed by a freshly backed scone with cream, 2 different cakes and 2 different cookies. The later were brilliantly crisp and a delight. We were surprised that the scones were served with cream but no preserve. This may have been a dsappointment to some people, but the quality of the scone made such criticism appear foolish... especially as the scone was accompanied by 2 strawberries. Also we asked for a jug of boiling water to accompany our tea and this came very speedily with a smile. The staff were young, spoke perfect English, but I suspect some of them were of foreign background. The hotel were busy with a wedding in one of the suites, but our tea was a delight in elegant and interesting surroundings. Babling fountains, statues and courtyards provided a very special ambience.

I Stayed here for 1 night with my daughter and grandson, I enjoyed every minite and would definatly stay there again. We were up-graded to an executive room at no extra charge, as promised there was a travel cot provided. I booked with octopus and paid £78 for the three of us. After a morming shopping in Chester we had a nice lunch on arrival at hotel in the Nelson bar/restaurant and then spent a pleasant afternoon in the fabulous pool with my grandson. After a short rest we went down for dinner in the Ciro restaurant which was a carvery and most enjoyable. We had a very good nights sleep, the room was so quiet as we faced onto open country-side. The beds were sooo comfy (soft mattress which I loved! ) Next morning after a very tasty breakfast with fresh fruit and full english we checked out and spent the day at the zoo. I would love to go back again with girl-friends and check out that amazing spa! (also If you want zoo tickets the hotel sells them at £11.75 per adult as opposed to £16.50 buying them at the zoo, and no queing) The helpful hotel receptionist advised us of this offer.

I had previously stayed at the Grosvenor Pulford on Business and found the Quality of Food, Service, Spa facilities and helpfullness of all the members of Staff that I came across was Top Quality.
I decided that this Hotel would be an Ideal place for my Wife and I to spend the Day and Night to celebrate our 30th Weddding Anniversary.
My Wife was absolutely thrilled with everything about the Hotel and Spa as well as the surrounding area.
