Good to visit with several exhibitions. Spoilt by gangs of uncontrolled school parties shouting and taking over the exhibits.

This is a great little free museum that has lots of interesting things mainly about the history of Chester, well worth the short stroll from the pedestrian area.

up in chester for a weekend to see my son who lives in chester, we decided to pay visit to this museum, We were
happy we did , not very big , but plenty to see, in several areas, very interesting, and lots of information, well worth alook if in chester, if its raining or you want to pass a peaceful quiet hour or so, the entrance fee is a honesty bucket which you pay a contribution. these places just like your home etc need some kind of income stream to keep these places open so be fair and enjoy.

The museum offers an interesting mixture of relics and historical representations of what life in the past was like through rooms set up in the house section. There was a school trip whilst we were there and they looked as though they had great fun dressing as roman soldiers and marching around the local streets.

Went with my daughter`s class . Really fascinating - thought I knew a bit about Roman times but obviously I didn`t !! Adults and kids alike loved it. Our `guide` - sorry ,forgot to take her name- was brilliant and so knowledgeable . Loved it and would highly recommend
