Me and my wife stayed here for two nights saturday and sunday. We arrived to a big car park and the hotel looks good from the outside. We went inside to check in, we checked in later than we normally would about 6ish.Anyway very close to reception is the bar area with a big screen which had the football on.It was very busy almost chaotic but it was saturday night so we didn't think too much of it.We walked to our room which was on the bottom floor and when we went in we was horrified it was small and dark and there was noice coming from everywhere. The walls are paper thin and we could hear people arguing from other rooms and people constantly walking up and down the corridor and kids everywhere running riot, it was a hell hole.We put the tv on to try and drown out the noice but the tv was unresponsive and slow.We considered taking our things and checking straight back out but instead we explained the situation to the girl on reception and to her credit she was understanding and most helpful and found us another room which was much much quieter and bigger and brighter too and the tv worked properly! This saved me giving this hotel a bad rating as we enjoyed our stay in the new room.We ordered room service which took just short of an hour to come not too bad.The food was very nice but we didnt eat here the 2nd night because in my opinion the price of food and drink at this hotel is too high.I think maybe they feel they can justify the high prices cos its a four star hotel but its only the hotel features like the swimming pool which allows this hotel to be four star because the rooms are not 4 star quality even the second room we was moved to was no better than what you get at a Premier Inn.Steak and chips here is £20 you can walk 2 minutes down the road and there is a harvester pub where you can buy the same meal for about £14 and the drink prices there are about £2-3 cheaper. On the plus side i can't fault the staff here as every member of staff we spoke to was friendly and helpful.Overall not a bad stay in the end although I would stay at a Premier Inn before here next time cos its quieter and food prices are more reasonable.
