“Such a good walk”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

I have loved The Sandstone Trail since I was a child. Never done the whole thing but the bits I have done are well-maintained and well-signposted. The countryside is varied and lovely.

“Great views and relatively easy walking”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

Liked the ridge walking which represents maybe a half of the walk. Not as keen on the flat fields towards Whitchurch.

“Great trail for beginners”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

We took a day to walk from Beeston Castle to Bickerton Hill. We started by visiting the castle and enjoying the view from there. It was such a pretty day! Once we started on the actual walk, I found it very well signed and easy to follow. So if you're beginner walker, this is a great trail to start with! Will definitely come again.

“Blows away the cobwebs”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

Easy to get to from Chester, and a wonderful variety of landscapes and terrains. Bring a packed lunch and your walking boots and spend a day in the lovely Cheshire countryside. Well sign-posted!

“Great place for a Ramble!”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

We have walked a few different areas of the Sandsone trail. It is always popular with ramblers and even takes in places like the 'Summertrees Tea Room' which has a great selection of home made cakes and scones, this is situated at the top of Willington. There are some fantastic views both at the Delemere/Frodsham end and right down to the views of Shropshire and beyond. There are plenty of parking areas if you just wish to walk a small section of it so it doesn't have to be too strenuous.
