Visited Chester’s beautiful cathedral today.
The stain glass windows are truly amazing. A place of absolute calm and tranquility in such a busy city.

Like so many antiquities it costs £5500 daily to keep it open but has less than 200 worshippers. It is a huge building with many nooks and crannies and lots of history.
No entry fee but donations encouraged

Not just for tourists, this well-cared for cathedral is an active part of the community. Great gift shop as well. No admittance fee, but donations welcomed.

If you ever visit Chester Cathedral and have a head for hights try and book the Cathedral at Height tour. The views both inside and from the top of the tower are spectacular. You get to see parts of the building and learn the history that the normal tours can't show you. Please note the galleries and spiral staircases are vey steep and narrow.

We haven’t been in the cathedral before even though we visit Chester every year. It’s beautiful to look around and big. Lots of interesting things to look at the stained glassed windows are beautiful. Very interesting. Beautiful garden hidden inside. Lots of small little rooms to look in. We lite a couple of candles which was nice. Definitely worth going into.
