Only went in because it was raining, glad it did because this was well worth seeing. The stained glass is incredible. Entry is free but tou are "encorgaed" to make a donation of £3.00 per person.

I enjoyed the visit to this beautiful cathedral. It is easy to get to and the history of the building is great.

Myself and my daughter have just returned from a day out at Chester Cathedral. What a magical adventure we had, we initially went for the Narnia exhibition which was wonderful in itself, enter the exhibit through a wardrobe into a snowy fantasyland, just amazing. We then were on the hunt for the White Queen and Mr Hummus but couldn't find them anywhere so to avoid disappoint we went up the cathedral tower for the heights tour. This on its own was worth every single penny but our guide was kind enough to radio through to the characters and when we were at the top my little girl waved to them. The look on her face was a joy to behold. On our return we finally tracked them down. The cathedral is never more beautiful than at Christmas, filled with magic and the heights tour is possible the best thing I've ever done. Thank you all so much for being so kind and making our day so very special.

We visited Chester Cathedral on 4th December and were impressed with the building and history. It was advertised as free to enter but they asked for a donation on entry, this should have been a voluntary contribution and not made to make you feel guilty if you could not afford something. We were going to have a light lunch in their café but thought the prices were too high for what you got. It is a lovely Cathedral though and worth a visit.

We spent 2 hours in the cathedral and could have stayed longer. We joined one of the free guided tours and learnt a lot of interesting history. A couple of our party were going to do the walk up to the top of the tower but had to give up because of fear of heights, apparently it's quite narrow in places and there is a bit of a drop. However one person did the whole of it and said it was amazing. There was a very small exhibition on The lion, the witch and the wardrobe when we visited, children might like it but don't expect too much.
A visit to the cathedral is a must if you are in Chester.
