A large clean interesting zoo. Especially organised with children in mind. All the animals appear to be in good health.

“Wonderful zoo !”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

We had a great day at the zoo in january . It was so spacious and well laid out . The elephant enclosure was the first thing we saw - it was large , and even had a waterfall / shower for the elephants . There was so much to do and see , and even when it rained there were indoor attractions , like the orang utans . So much better for space than Edinburgh zoo - though no pandas !

“Leave your camera at home.”
Reviewed January 24, 2014

If I didn’t live so far away from this wonderful zoo, I would buy a season ticket to it. A freezing cold and wet January day, but what a joy to see how well the animals are looked after and how hard the zoo works to give them such spacious, clean environments and to try to make them happy. The old steel bars of my childhood have been replaced with glass and one can only hope that this stuff is thick enough to withstand a full scale attack. The film - Jurassic Park certainly came to mind, particularly when we were sitting in one of the restaurants enjoying a welcome and very well cooked bowl of soup. Still on the subject of the glass, it doesn’t seem to be non-reflective and it’s difficult to see some of the animals. It also plays havoc with a camera and would be even worse if you were inconsiderate enough to leave the flash switched on. Putting a coat over your head seems to be the order of the day if you want to take good pictures. Better still just leave the camera at home and enjoy the zoo.

I visit here often and there is always something new to see. This time there were lots of babies. The painted dogs were very playful.
