Firstly i would like to say what a pleasant experience we had at the zoo. we had lovely weather which probably helped . But even if its raining theres plenty to do and see inside .We took my grandaughter who is 3. She loved the giraffes although she called them smelly lol. we really did have a brilliant day out and when Millie had a nap we enjoyed some nanna n grandad time sitting in the sun with a nice cold beer :) We will definately go again when shes older and can appreciate reading up on the animals and seeing where they originate from . We had lunch in the food hall and although it was busy the food was fine and not much waiting as there is a variety of different food places to go to . The face painting queue was long but with a bit of patience we got there in the end . plenty of choice in the souvenier shop Probably to much :0 We seemed to spend more time in there than going around the zoo . A Great day out anytime of the year . WELL DONE CHESTER ZOO. Definately see you again in the near future .

It was brilliant it had a big gift store and there were lots of animals there and many activities for the kids to do. And there were lots of places to stop and get a bite to eat. But there was one problem which isn't really there fault but when we went there in august, many of the animals were not there and we could not see them.

Great day out. Arrived for opening time and was quickly allowed admission thanks to our pre paid tickets from the website. The ticket price was very reasonable at £18.50 for students including a £2 donation. This was more than worth it compared with other national attractions like Alton towers which is 3 times the price!
There is a huge variety of well looked after animals in exhibit. Some slow to rise early in the morning but more than happy to show off to crowds by the afternoon.
Would gladly recommend to everyone!

I went with family. In-laws and mrs with an 7 month old child. Even these things could not dampen my day. The only problem was getting to see it all in one day. Some of the animals were hard to see so take binoculars or a large lens on your camera. I will go again and again. Each time to see more and more.

They have some beautiful animals, the prices aren't too bad (including the shops) and its a great day out especially for children. Try to see what you can, the butterfly house and the bats were amazing and we almost didn't bother.

They only down sides are minor, like we couldn't see some of the animals like the bears (not that you can do much about it) and in the summer they have no air con in the coffee shops! But still nothing major.
