“Best Zoo”

Easy parking whether it be by car or park and ride. Not very expensive. You get a lot for your money. This is the best zoo I have visited. The place is very clean and there are plenty of places to rest.

“Good things come in medium sized packages”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

Not a tiny cramped zoo, but not sprawling all over the place so that you have to walk 10mins to see your next animal!!! My 4yr old daughter loved it, and the variety of animals was well balanced. The food in the cafe was expensive (expected) but god quality and fresh ( not normal at a zoo cafe). We shared the fish and chips and enjoyed them greatly. I hadn't planned the day, but we looked at some of the animals close to the entrance, paid to take the train to the other side of the zoo, and wandered casually back towards the start (stopping at all of the playgrounds along the way). Great day out.

“Excellent family day out”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

Chester Zoo is lovely for a family day out - just walking around is nice enough but whole place is well thought out with nice eating areas and good quality cafe / restaurant etc.. Always baby animals to see and family pass is good value if you live nearby.

“Daddy, I want to see elephants this weekend...mmm ok”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

Following the above comment from my little girl, we hopped in the car and an hour later we were at Chester zoo. Fantastic is the only word I can use, from the wide open enclosures to the interesting talks given by staff.
The elephants did not disapoint,of the millions of creatures there the one we didnt see was the spectacled bear, so shy it may not even be there, but its a good way to have 5mins of peace whilst the kids try and spot it.
One down side is the monorail, fairly pricey for what it is and its a one way ride. I suppose if it was included in the admission you would be waiting in line all day to get on so , swings and roundabouts.
On a cold day, there is no better stop off than the buttefly house, warm as toast.
Great day, good price bracket for a family, really enjoyed it and spent all day there, sleeping kids in the car on the way home = great day out had by all

“day out at the zoo”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

We went to Chester zoo this week as I hadn't been there since I was a child. It didn't disappoint. It was lovely with lots of animals and plenty of eating places which were very clean. The animals were well looked after with plenty of space. A thoroughly enjoyable day and highly recommended.
