We went here with 2 adults , 4 children , one child under 3 so free , but still cost close to £80 . All round the zoo are shoos , machines , photo opportunitys etc to take money . The restaurant was jammed and not enough tables for everyone . Monorail was a bit pointless , as you don't see a lot from it . As with all zoos , it's hit and miss if you get to see certain animals or not . Huge shop on the way way out , just to get that extra few quid out of you . A good day , but not a cheap one . £80 works out at close to €100 . Dublin zoo for two adults and three children is €50 so it's twice as dear .

We went the first weekend of October. The zoo is huge, so much to see so the monorail is an excellent way of getting from one side of the zoo to the other. We had a great viewing of the week old giraffe. It was something that really captured our daughters interest and we were in the giraffe house half an hour watching it. We also loved the rhinos. The boat ride is quite good too. It is a shame from a viewing perspective that the lemurs get an island so are really difficult to spot (we didn't see any), but for the lemurs it is great. My only real complaint would be that the zoo closed at 4.30pm despite there still being at least another 2 hours of light and the zoo was still charging high season prices, so we lost what I would call 'viewing time'.

Very good day out, all well signposted and well organised. Got a hotel and zoo deal through Superbreak very good price. The Zoo was well managed and the animals were wll maintained and had plenty of room to move . The best for us were the Giraffes, Lions,Tigers and Elephants. There were plenty of eateries but we brought our picnic and there were many places to sit and eat.We went in October half term there were no crowds or queues. All in all a good day out and would return.

Amazing day out for the whole family. Arrived at opening time and only just got round by closing time. I have been to many zoos in the UK and Chester is certainly my favourite. Family favourites were the elephants, the giraffes, the tigers (which we were able to get surprisingly close to) and the amazing orang-utans. Kids (aged 4 and 6) absolutely loved it.

We went prepared with warm coats and sensible walking shoes, this was going to be a long fun filled day. Arrived early to beat the que's, so went through the gates quickly. Decided this visit to go round anti-clockwise to see things we might have missed on previous visits. The African dogs were on great form, and managed to see the bear through a bush. Visited the new baby giraffe which was so cute.
Routes/paths are easy to navigate with a wheelchair or buggy.
BRILLIANT disabled changing facilities-wish more places thought about doing the same.
This is an outing we will be doing again and again, and in any type of weather there is always something to see and do.
