At Chester Zoo they have a great variety of mammals, birds, retiles, insects and fish (although I felt the aquarium was in need of update and an increase in tank sizes).
The animals have well designed enclosures, intended to mimick their natural habitats. The chimpanzees are always a hit, and I enjoyed the bat cave. The feeling of the bats flying inches above your head was quite exciting.
I felt the prices were a bit steep, and beware of the 'donation ticket', which adds another £2 each.
