“Course has changed FOR THE WORSE”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013

i feel very sad writing this review, but i have to be honest.
i have been to this course for over 20 years and have experienced the county stand, tatts and open course.
in all my years of going the changes this year are just a blatant rip off.
i took my 73 year old dad into the tatts...£2 each... as a fathers day present.
we got there not too early as it's a long day for him so got there at 1245pm....90 minutes before the first race...
there was nowhere at all...i mean no where for hit to sit....the wooden tables were reduced from last year...the metal table and chairs were all full...it was a disgrace.....
so we had to stand on the grass opposite the 1/2 furlong pole....basically 400 yards past the tents we could have stood there for £11 each and took our own beer, not pay £3.80 a pint .......
the new pub that has been built...£80 for a guaranteed seat...£80!!!
the racecourse has lost touch with the general racegoer im afraid....
there was little sign of any security in the area we were, which was lucky for the hen party of girl sprawled on the floor swearing, knickers showing, blatantly fillling their coke cans with vodka from their bags....
i did not see anyone get checked by security on their way in.....
we left after the 5th race as it was just full of idiots.....i went to the toilets for a wee and guess what....there was a big queue not for the urinals...but the cubicles....i wonder why that was??? security jsut turned a blind eye...the course is fast becoming a laughing stock....but the owners won't be bothered, whilst there are still mugs wishing to pay one of the highest prices for tickets in the u.k....
you cannot be a signal that good on your phone..

if you want a good day there

here's my tip....take your own beer...go in the cheap part...the bookies are just as good there....shop around for best prices...dont be on chesterbet...they take 6% of your winnings!!they dont do placepots...do your bets before you go on a lucky 15 and placepot....take your own food in a cooler bag and a camping chair....you get a seat then!!!!!
also if you take the kids,its £4....yes £4 a ride...it's £1.50 at doncaster races...
what a rip off!!!
the racecourse needs a long hard look at itself..im 41 and i won't be going in the expensive part ever again... it's a con, badly managed and behind the times..

“Ladies Night at the Races”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013

As always a great evening at the races. We were a group of 12 ladies on a Hen weekend and we had the Punters package which included a Hog Roast Roll and One Drink. The only negative thing was that the free drink on 'Ladies' Night was A Pint of Beer or A Pint of Lager!!!! What!!! Not all ladies like Beer or Lager!! What's wrong with opening a few bottles of wine and offering the ladies a glass of wine with the Punters Package? After all it was LADIES NIGHT! The racing was excellent though, and great fun had by all.
