“Very good burger!!”
Reviewed February 4, 2014

We visited yesterday this lovely pub we had a very very nice 8oz beef burger well cooked with chips and coleslaw. Between 12pm and 3pm lunch deal with good price (you pay almost half price food+drink included) Nice atmosphere and polite staff. (small negative point..missing soap in the men toilet) We will come back.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

I'm at student at Chester university and I have visited with my flat mates and have also taken my parents and friends from home here when they have been visiting. The food is great value for money and is very cheap for how much you get. Would definitely recommend!

“Very nice place for well-deserved lunch”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

Having just finished a visit to Chester Cathedral and circular walk of the city walls, we decided to break for a well-earned lunch. Lovely atmosphere, good prices, excellent service, very good beer (to quote my Ukrainian brother-in-law: "this is the best beer I have had in the past 15 years" - the beer to which he referred - Wainwrights). The place was quite busy, which is a good sign, so service was about half an hour, which was not an issue for us. The staff kept us regularly informed of the timescale for the eta of our food. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Would certainly visit again, and would recommend to others.

“pretty good for pub grub”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

being laden with bags of presents didn't want to venture too far from the bus stop so decided to try here for the first time. didn,t really know what to expect as there was no menu outside or on the window but was needed a thirst quencher so went in anyway.the beer and wine is cheaper than a lot of places in town and plenty of choice to boot.the menu is quite varied so we opted for some nacho,s to share while I had the leek and potato soup, both choices went down a treat, one really good idea they have is a smaller portion menu ideal for ladies who don,t want to pig out.my two female companions opted for the gammon and the chicken pie the gammon was better than usual but the pie pastry was not good far to soggy being microwaved too long, myself I had udon prawn noodles for a change must admit really enjoyed them.meals not overpriced and the place itself was nice and cosy a repeat visit is definitely on the cards.
