“Hugely improved service”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

We approached our recent booking with some trepidation, since although the Pheasant is a wonderful location, we have previously been disappointed with the service (see other reviews about surly and disinterested staff). However, the Pheasant is firmly back on our favourite list. Not only were the staff polite, attentive and responsive to us but they managed our party of over 20 (adults and children) without delays. On the basis of this trip, which we hope is representative of their general approach, we would highly recommend. Food lovely too.

Our friends booked lunch for the 4 of us at the Pheasant and it could not have been nicer. The setting is absolutely beautiful and the restaurant and bar area are welcoming and comfortable. The service was excellent and the food delicious. We know where to choose if we want good food and service in wonderful surroundings next time we are in that area.

I went for a big family meal there a few weeks ago and had a great dining experience. Lovely food and a warm atmosphere, with friendly staff who couldn't have been more helpful. We all found the manager in particular to be extremely attentive, knowledgeable and very professional. We will definitely be making this place a regular!

Fab meal with great views over the Cheshire plains.
The menu was expansive and would accommodate any pallet.
The drinks were as you would expect for a gastro pub.
Lovely decor and warm atmosphere.
I ate here with my husband and both of us found the manager particularly obnoxious, arrogant and rude. He was abrupt when he shouted "can I help you? you dont have a table do you? And you haven't booked a table either?" with an additional sigh for affect. He shouted this to me while I was just having a little look around, waiting for my husband to return from the toilet. I was quite taken back as every person who was standing at the bar turned to stare at the 'dunce' who hasn't booked a table.
After we had eaten and I had forgotten all about the rude manager, my husband went to the bar to pay the bill. The manager served him. He asked my husband where he was from and my husband replied. The manager asked whether the weather was very snowy where we are from (20 miles away) then made a comment about there not being many high standard restaurants near where we live. My husband was so embarrassed as once more this was said in front of other members of the public at the bar who had heard the conversation.
We will be returning, however a lesson in people skills and customer service must be given to the manager as a matter pf urgency as you will surely you will lose customers if this I'd not addressed.

The rooms are quite tiny, but very lovely designed. The staff is very !!! kind and you should absolutely have dinner over there. The burgers are really delicius....in winter they have open fire to heat the restaurant: really cosy atmosphere. Breakfast is good with quick service. I stayed already twice times there and this will remain my favorite hotel when I am close to Wrexham.

We spent 2 nights recently at the Pheasant, "wow", the expeirence was beyond our wildest dreams.
What more could you ask:
A wonderful setting,
Fantastic accomadation.
Exemplary staff, your every whim is catered for in a casual but totally professional way.
The food is a delight, every taste can met and what flavours with presentation to match.
To say we were impressed is an understatement, we have stayed in many highly recommeneded establishments but this tops the lot.
The Manager and the staff are totally focused on your every need, and it is run like well oiled machine .
We will most defenitely be back , if we can get in.!!!

Room Tip: They are all glorious
