I was attending a charity function in Chester. So I needed to spend a night , it is a good modern hotel , from check in i was impresses , good attentive service , once i was in the room i needed an extra heater , that came in a few minutes , I ordered room service and although simply , the food was good . My only but re this hotel is the night service , I got back to the hotel at about 1pm, went to my room and discovered that my room key didn't work , this is where it starts to go wring, went back downstairs , there was no one on duty at the desk, I then proceeded into the open office door , asking for assistance , I eventually got someone to attend to me , however the staff member in question had that kind of attitude, like I was a nuisance , ( very cold and indifferent ) . Apart from that little scenario , a really nice hotel

We were so impressed with this hotel. On arriving the booking was slightly messed up, in that we needed a twin room and we got a double but the staff were wonderful and althoug they did not have a twin available they provided us with another room at no extra charge. The spa was wonderful, and the breakfast too. Would recommend 100%.

The overall impression of this hotel is that it has been nicely converted and extended in a stylish way from a country house hotel into a Hilton, without losing the feel of its roots. Set in very neatly laid out grounds, and with the old walled garden and courtyard still retained as features, it was easy to feel relaxed and "at home" as soon as we arrived. The room allocated was possibly on the small side, but it was most comfortable and quiet, which is the main thing. Well appointed throughout.

The Marco Pierre White steakhouse was fully booked (Saturday night) so we ate in the Brasserie. Good value food, though perhaps the time gap between starter and main courses was a touch long, given that the restaurant wasn't that busy. But the staff were most attentive, friendly and efficient apart from that delay, which frankly was a minor niggle overall. We didn't use the spa or pool.

Breakfast in the same Brasserie was extensive in choice and the hot food plentiful and well presented. Good value in the inclusive room price we paid.

Situated perhaps a couple of miles from Chester city centre in a nice residential area but just off the M56 motorway spur, the location for a visit to Chester is very good indeed, unless you insist on being in the centre itself. All in all, no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

we had a wonderful stay. the hotel was clean and tidy
the spa is great a well maintained pool and the different sauna were very good
We found the staff at all levels very professional and nothing was to much trouble, we asked for a late check out which they managed to arrange and to be in the country and a short taxi ( about £5.50 one way was good value) into the center of Chester was wonderful .
all aspects of the hotel from check in to check out was fabulous
so good we have already booked our next stay

We have stayed here before and this time had a tiny double room with a very small window which meant we needed lights on even on a fairly bright afternoon. We got the room on a deal but if paid more would have not accepted it. Out side the window was a massive tree which it's branches nearly touched the window. The floor of the room could have done with a good vac as there were crumbs from previous guests. When we went to bed we were amazed at the amount of hairs on the sheets. Short! Ones and really long dark hairs. Some of the long hairs were trapped between the top fitted sheet and the mattress protector. (Room 130), maybe more attention to detail needed by housekeeping needed. The bar area was nice but as you would expect expensive. The liqueur coffee was one of the nicest I've had, it was topped with 3 whole coffee beens ( nice touch ). Would return but at a room rate to compensate for the risk of getting a small dark room and finding hairs in the bed.

Room Tip: Check bedding before you want to retire.

Overall a nice stay. Edward, manager of the Brasserie, was excellent! He has elevated my estimation of the entire Hilton group! I have a long list of food intolerances, unfortunately, which often causes confusion and is too often met with complacency and indifference causing me great discomfort and embarrassment. If and when this leads to my needs being badly catered for I can be left with the physical discomfort and unpleasantness for days afterward.
It was between the Christmas and New Year period and was a surprise gift from my husband and so pre-arrangements with the hotel restaurant were not possible and rarely make any difference anyway. We arrived late in the evening and were met by the very professional and helpful Edward who saw to it that my needs were properly catered for and taken seriously throughout our stay! Most excellent service!
Without Edward's excellence I would have felt the need to complain about the dirty bath, broken tap, faulty plug-hole and detached towel holder in the Presidential Suite! I really think that IF the president ever did stay here, he would be less than impressed with this room's standard of housekeeping. I think cleaners need training. Sometimes the people willing to take on these jobs, with the best will in the world cannot be expected to know how to clean a bathroom, when it is highly likely that in their home country they do not and have never had a bathroom! The same goes for teenagers, without training how can they be expected to know how to clean anything properly? Teenagers do not see dirt! Not their fault, simple fact.
It is Hilton's responsibility to ensure good service and cleanliness if it really does want to represent prestige and Quality. If not, and I have to say that Hilton hotels all over the world and around the UK are struggling with good housekeeping and standards of service in my experience, then perhaps Edward would be better suited to a better class of hotel?
