Stayed in and exec double in the Kings Suites. Modern well furnished and comfortable room.
Excellent nights sleep due to the quiet room and correct temperature.
First class breakfast and good service from all staff. Factor in an additional £10 per night for parking if you are driving.

We stayed at the Queens on Friday night - what a surprise ! Years ago I stayed there but I had no idea that do much money had been invested ! We stayed in the Kings Suite and our room was amazing. Spacious and beautifully designed. The most comfy beds ever . Breakfast was delicious and lots of choice . Staff were extremely friendly particularly the porter and the manager Simon who we met as we checked out. Can't recommend highly enough

enjoyed our stay during the chester races, shame the room prices double though.
£3.75 for a pint of carlsberg, very pricey, so steer clear of the bar.
breakfast was the best ive ever had with live back ground music, nice touch.
our shower was just a dribble, i complained but it was still the same the next day.handy if your on the train as it is right opposite the main station.
would definately stay again though!

Room Tip: not top floor

We were on a day trip to Chester so didn't actually stay in the hotel but booked for afternoon tea, the food and service were excellent and the surroundings magnificent.
The hotel public rooms are very classis and there is a great garden area with seating and statues and a fountain.
There is also a giant chair.

First the good stuff. The staff we met were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is right opposite the train station and a 15 minute walk into town. There's a free bus to town too every minutes from the station. The free wi-fi worked well in the room. We stayed in an 'executive' room in the Kings section. The bed was great and there's plenty of tea/coffee and even a nice shortbread biscuit or 2.

We are not generally complaining type people but for the price you pay at this hotel I think people should know that.... air con/handles to draws kept falling off. There is no shampoo/tooth brush or paste.... no spare towels and no robe/gown (which my wife was very disappointed with) to wear in the room. The handbook had all of these items initially available from reception but they've all been pencilled out with a 'not available' note! We pre-ordered a newspaper first day - didn't arrive in the morning. Delivered after a phone call. Second day ditto! Breakfast here is included in some rates but I found all the ingredients a bit cheap - instant coffee/fake sauces/no good cereals etc. Oh yes, check in was a bit of a joke. First person says room not available, second person says oh yes it is, and then first person says I'm afraid it isn't. 3pm check in I thought is a bit late for a reasonably expensive hotel and check out is at 11am.

All in all we had a lovely stay in Chester, but I wouldn't recommend staying here at this price level. The cost savings they have in place leave a slightly sour taste in one's mouth when really you should be leaving here feeling really good about the place. We saw lots of great looking places walking around town and I would recommend that you look into all the options before you choose a place to stay in Chester. We would not stay here again.

Room Tip: I wouldn't bother. Stay elsewhere

Me and my partner booked this hotel for a weekend away and it's fantastic.

We stayed in the King's quarters side of the hotel. The room was really nicely decorated, great bed and bathroom. Nice big LCD tv and air con if you needed it plus all the other usual facilities. Only real gripe about the room was that it was a bit cramped with all the furniture in there but other than that was great.

The hotel is situated right outside the train station and if a train wasn't so damn expensive from where i live that would definately be the best form of transport to get to the hotel. Be aware that if you take the car be prepared to pay the £10 a night parking charge if you park at the hotel.

Breakfast is usual affair but is really nice, restaurants in hotel are over priced (think it was going to cost
you around £19 for a rump steak!) There's far better places to eat in the centre of Chester.

5 - 10 mins walk into centre, free bar on a Friday and Sunday night between 5 - 7, ask if you are eligible for this and make sure they stamp, and you keep your room reciept to show at the bar.

Staff are lovely and attentive.

Would definately recommend!

I'd stayed in this hotel before and had a very good experience. My recent two day visit showed there had been a very significant drop in standards. The room was poor and not good value for money, the room service dinner was unpleasant- bordering on the inedible- and the staff were not very helpful or welcoming. I've never complained to a hotel before but I was so annoyed by the trip that I wrote them an email; they didn't even bother to respond. Shame really, it had been a really nice hotel.
