The best pasta in sauce eaten anywhere recently. Sergio's special with scampi was particularly good. Welcoming staff and pleasant ambiance. House wine was reasonably priced and drinkable.

Without doubt, Sergio's is a nice place to eat. Situated down a gently sloping courtyard right next to the cathedral, its interior is all soft lights and sweet authentic Italian music -plus arches, columns , huge flower-filled vases and marble tabletops.Service is prompt and courteous.
Strictly in terms of cuisine, however, it doesn't compare with the less well-situated La Fattoria and its star chefs, the brothers Luigi and Mario.
Sergio's has been around for donkeys' years and it's resting on its laurels to some extent.Just over twelve months ago I gave it four stars but it now seems no more than good to average.

I have eaten here for years back to Mama Mia days,Sergio's is keeping the flag flying to be fair.
Warm welcome on arrival despite no booking, seated quickly no problem. The room has a real authentic, rustic Italian feel, tiled floors, marble table tops and bright yellow walls with brick edging.
All waiters and staff are Italian and very helpful,my young son particularly taken with the chefs in the open kitchen, putting on a show with large flames and spinning pizza dough.
We had anti pasti and garlic bread to start, all good,Mrs T had a pizza and I had a spaghetti dish with anchovy. No complaints with the food at all, tasty and rustic simple cooking, nice bottle of wine, reasonable bill, had a really good experience here again - would have no problem in recommending a visit.

Authentic restaurant that serves the best Italian food for miles! The service is always excellent as is the standard of food. The two course lunch menu for £9.95 is excellent value for money. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't already been. A firm favourite!

Went for a meal for 2. We were in for an hour and we were served with starter and a main. Service is fantastic! Absolute delight to visit there and happily return. However area is crammed could do with less tables to create a nicer atmosphere.
