A group of six of us visited the restaurant and were all impressed. The service was prompt and the staff were attentive, the food was of high quality and most of the group didn't manage to finish their portions however they all said their food was delicious! I can certainly recommend the Mafia pizza however make sure you have plenty of room for it! The only issue we had if I am being picky was that we were asked several times by different members of staff if we wanted deserts when we had said no already but that wasn't a major problem. An overall great experience, I booked on recommendation, will be returning and would recommend to others.

I usually have a Saturday lunch time meal every couple of weeks at Sergio's and it never fails to let me down. I am quite a small eater and can never finish a meal as the portions (as much as i try) are so generous. Always have great service from the lovely staff. Value for money is brilliant - all home cooked authentic Italian food. The pizzas are huge - really good for the price.

We found this little restaurant on the last day in Chester unfortunately otherwise we would have been back. Staff were very friendly and helpful without being over solicitous. Choice of food was different, which was a nice change, and very tasty using fresh vegetables. The tiramisu was also homemade and delicious. Choose the house wine as it is obviously chosen by someone who knew what they were doing - ours was the white and was nice and fruity without being too dry or sweet. I look forward to a return trip.

Our first visit was on a race day and although we had booked a table well in advance, we had to wait half an hour as our table had been given to racegoers walking in off the street. We sat in the waiting area next to a couple who were in the same situation. An apology and complimentary drink would have been nice, but we received neither. In fact, we weren't even allowed to charge our drinks to the table until one had become available! Our second visit was better, although we felt rushed by the waiting staff. We had only just finished our meals when a waiter rushed over to offer us a dessert menu - within a short space of time, we were asked four times by different staff whether we wanted to order from it. In the end we got fed up, declined and left.

Overall, the food is good enough to warrant a return (although not on a races day, when extra tables are crammed in). Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about menu choices, but there is no need to rush customers. If might also help if waiting staff were allocated to table areas.

We called a week before our visit as it was Chester races. We were offered a table for 9pm but wanted 8.30pm, they said this was fine. Upon arrival it was perfectly clear there was no table available for our party of 5 however we were told to take a seat for a few minutes and to get a drink. We could also see our name had been rubbed out of the booking for that evening. After 15 minutes still no table we really kept being fobbed off. We asked for a complimentary drink as we had to order another drink, again we were fobbed off. We were then promised the next table would be ours, however a party of 10 strolled in off the street and were given our table. We were all so frustrated. We eventually caught up with the manager ourselves as it was obvious the waiter had no intention of getting us any kind of complimentary drink. We settled for a complimentary drink and garlic bread. It took 45 minutes for our table to be available. In anger we all just ordered main courses, most of them calzone. I have to say this was the 1st time I have tried calzone and it's not something I shall order again as it was very bland. The meal worked out cheap enough as we only had the main meals to pay for but disappointed that they booked us in when they were clearly fully booked already. Certainly not a place we will visit again on such busy occasions.
