A great stay with Daniel, Chloe and all their staff, charming hosts showing great enthusiasm for their guests to have a good time while staying. Nothing is too much trouble for them.Excellent food with cheap prices with a good nights sleep and great breakfast to set you on your way.
Bedroom kept clean and tidy every day - a big thank you to you all and will definitely put you on my list to stay again when visiting Chester and Liverpool.

We did book this hotel as it was advertised on the web as being one of the most haunted hotels in Chester. Exterior wise it was traditional but once inside the feeling of period features & ghostly apparitions soon disappeared. It has been decorated in a modern style now and the rooms were also very modern so not what we were expecting really. Strange set up on the TV having to unplug the DVD to get the freeview to work???? Having said that the check in was quick and the welcome very good and rooms were well heated and comfortable. Service was friendly and food we had in the bar was good too. The breakfast was ok although they appeared to have some teething problems like the hot water urn playing up, the toaster broke so our toast was burnt the staff were apologetic and friendly though.
All in all not a bad stay but not outstanding either.

I stayed recently on an overnight business trip. It's close to the city centre, clean, tidy and the service was excellent. The landlord was extremely friendly and very helpful. All in all great value for money and I will certainly stay again!!

It's cheap and the room was mostly functional (tv broke, remote control batteries cellotaped in, shower door didn't close properly). The pub is relatively noisy but you're staying in a pub so you're not doing this to escape. Food on the Sunday took an hour and ten to arrive for a soup and some potato skins. Close to the University and town but thats about the highlight.

Just got back from Chester, stayed from Monday to Friday 24th to 28th. Had a great stay with the new landlords and staff. Overall stay superb, breakfast freshly cooked to order plenty to eat and drink. We had room 30 and found this clean with lovely en suite, linen changed every 2 days. This really is a lovely location to get into the city easily. All staff really helpful, Paula a star keeping our room clean and fresh. Can't wait to return

Location is fab - just 10 minutes walk to the walls. There is also a Tesco Express just 5 minutes away. Our room was big enough for the two of us (twin room) and clean. We had clean linens, towels, the shower was hot and a kettle that boiled. The TV didn't work very well and we didn't try the DVD player but WIFI was fine. We stayed on a Thursday night so if you like Karaoke, you're in for a treat. The music goes on until around midnight in the pub downstairs. Actually, it was kind of nice because you could hear the tune but not the singing! Breakfast was good and the service was lovely.
All in all, I would give this a thumbs up!

Room Tip: We had room 21. If you are a light sleeper, I don't recommend this because it faces on to a maj...

We stayed for 2 nights 25th and 26th August room was small but very clean and was fine for us, there was a bit of traffic noise from the main road outside but didnt really bother us that much, free car parking and a lovely breakfast to set you up for the day, cant fault it really and would go back. Price was reasonable considering the free parking and the lovely breakfast.
