We stayed for 1 night in November location of the hotel is good only a 5 minute walk in to the centre of Chester. We had prebooked a Parking space which we would recommend and had no issues with this. Our issue started when trying to get into our room after check in we went straight up were the scanning key would not work we asked a cleaner on our floor to try there key which did not work either after standing outside the room for 25 minutes while they tried to resolve it we were eventually given another room. Rooms are good nothing special but we were facing the road which was exceptionally noisy all night.we only had a drink I'm the bar which we were charged 12.5% service for the pleasure but service was good as at breakfast were no Ptolemaic. We normally stay at the Crowned Plaza when visiting Chester and have to say prefer the Plaza to the Abode the most annoying part of the visit was the £10 car park charge when we didn't actually use the hotel spaces we used the councils!

Stayed at Abode for 3 nights on their 'Taste of Autumn' deal DB&B for £99 per room. Whilst the deal itself was very good value I would have paid considerably more for the level of service. I travel a lot around Europe and have stayed at some '5-Star' hotels that could learn from the level of service Abode Chester prides itself upon. I was due to arrive late on the first evening, later than MC Cafe Bar & Grill was due to be open, and upon speaking to reception was offered to select from the menu and have it freshly prepared for my arrival. On every occasion I spoke to a member of the bar, restaurant, reception or cleaning staff they oozed pride and a passion for exemplary service. I have already booked in for another 6 nights over the coming weeks instead of staying in Manchester and Liverpoool, I would highly recommend.

We were originally going to stay in Oddfellows, but it was full and they recommended Abode - brilliant choice! We were looking for a Saturday/Sunday romantic break and we could not have stayed at a better hotel. When making the booking they recommended room 304, this is an extremely spacious end suite with a feature bathroom - not something I would normally mention - but it was a bit special.

The bed was a massive Queen size and the room also had a large sofa + chair, classy artwork along with a cool lighting set-up and air conditioning that stayed at the temperature you set it at. My only gripes were that I couldn't find the iPod docking station and We were caught out by the clock on the TV - it hadn't been turned back an hour.

As we booked late they could only get us a 6:45pm reservation in the 5th floor Michael Caine restaurant. After a couple of cocktails in the adjoining bar we sat down and were told the Early Dining Menu was still applicable. What a bargain - £22.95 for three courses - it was the best meal we have eaten in months. Coupled with great service and atmosphere (the restaurant was full) meant we had a fun evening. So good that despite us finishing dining by 9pm we decided to have more cocktails in the bar rather than venture out into Chester town centre. The full English breakfast was of the same standard as our evening meal.

Considering that we did not plan to stay at this hotel, the entire 24 hours could not have been better. Definitely one to visit again.

Really enjoyed staying at this hotel - friendly staff, excellent service, great food, extremely comfortable room with amazing view of the racecourse. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Our stay was for two nights in a comfortable room with the offer of a dinner on one night for "taste the autumn".

Unfortunately intially the hotel is not clearly marked up for the parking but upon finally finding it the parking could not be more secure. The check in was easy and quick, and upon being given our room key was a nice touch that the lift would only be key operated so only accessible by residents.

The rooms were spacious, fresh, modern, airy and clean, with us being fortuante to have a view over the castle from the floor to ceiling windows on the fouth floor. Bathroom was clean but there is a design fault with the shower as the floor towel was drenched upon exiting the shower so make sure the provided bath mat is underneath or it could be slightly eventful. The facilities within the room, air conditioning, tv, dvd and stereo along with wi-fi was great for the price of the hotel and could easily be used for a longer stay than a few days. One bad point was that we did not get a 'refresh' visit on our second day. We did not require fresh linen or personal towels but the soaking wet towel for the shower would've been nice to have replaced, so a quick check needed.

The service for the "taste the autumn" meal in the bar and grill was great, however although a promotional offer and we did not expect the earth, there was a very limited selection of food in that if you wanted the steak there was an additional charge which was a shame as it left a fish or vegetarian option.

The first mornings breakfast was well cooked offering a great selection of food and prompt efficient service with a view from the 5th floor. Unfortuantely the second morning we arrived to a full restaurant and were placed in a back corner and appeared to be forgotten about even though the service staff had a station right next to us. We eventually got our cooked food and again it was cooked well.

Upon booking out just before 1200pm we had to advise that we had been told the parking was £10 for our whole stay when it is in fact £10 per day. However there were no arguements when we showed our confirmation email and the error was corrected promptly and quickly. I would suggest a bigger reception counter as due to all the computers and bits and pieces on there if there is another customer using it there is limited room to actually see around.

For a new hotel this is definately worth the money we paid and hoepfully the teething problems will correct themselves with ongoing staff training.
