Very good parking, lift up to reception from car park. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Stayed in room 104 on 1st floor. Room was huge. Massive bed which was very comfortable. Hotel spotless throughout. Good selection of toiletries in the room. Bathrobes and slippers provided. Also an abundance of fresh towels. We had a nice view of the old courthouse and the castle, if you want a view of the racecourse request it when booking. We liked the view from our room though, bit more going on. No road noise, maybe windows are triple glazed? Free standing bath, walk in shower and separate toilet room, all very modern and well thought out. Plenty of wardrobe space and safe free of charge. Plenty of tea and coffee, some of the blurb led us to believe the 'tuck box' was included in the price but think that's only the case with the 3 suites on 6th floor. Not a major issue though as the prices aren't too bad if you do want any crisps etc. Lounge bar on ground floor very good and prices reasonable. Didn't use champagne bar on 5th floor but did have a look as restaurant where breakfast is served is joined to the same room. Again all very modern and really well decorated and furnished. Fabulous view of racecourse. Had cooked breakfast which was lovely. This is definitely one of the best hotels (probably THE best) we have stayed in here or abroad.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a separate bath and shower.

Found the hotel room to be very nice and initially looked amazing. We paid over £200 for one nights stay. However, on closer inspection there were some flaws- firstly the towel rail in the bathroom was loose at one end and almost fell off the wall when you put your towel on it. The hook (for robes) also in the bathroom was also loose. There were dirty marks on the wall by the toilet and just looked a bit tired.
The rug in the bedroom had marks on it. I dropped an earring on the floor and when I knelt down to pick it up I noticed 'splash' marks on the base of the bed.
I know these are only small things, but when you are paying good money for a room in a hotel that boats 5 stars then I for one expect 5 star rooms.
The young lady at reception although friendly and informative looked unkempt in her ill fitting jacket. I would suggest that staff be given uniforms that fit and close properly!
A bit disappointed if I'm honest.

Have stayed here two times the last being for a works night out in Chester over Christmas. The hotel is a nice modern hotel with spacious rooms and well appointed bathrooms, although the boss complained of the bathroom being too bright and dressing table light too dim to apply her make-up don't know what she means but you ladies will know. The bed was massive with a very nice soft to medium divan which suited me perfectly. Air conditioning was quiet as was the room. I had no issue with paying the extra for the underground parking as it was secure, well lit and easy to get to reception from the lift in the car park especially if the weather is poor too, if I stayed a week however it might of been another thing but for one night no issue paying the supplement.
The breakfast is the usual fare for this standard of hotel in a nice position on the top floor, the service however was poor with a few reminders about coffee, toast etc. I have eaten in the restaurant on the previous occasion and found the food ok but nothing special they seemed to be trying a bit too hard with the foam, jus etc....for the price I think you would find better within Chester centre with a better atmosphere.
To sum up the hotel is nice and comfortable modern hotel with very nice rooms maybe more of a business hotel than leisure, I don't think I would of paid the rack rate for the hotel but the discounted rate from Trivago brought it to a level I thought matched the accommodation.

I booked two rooms for friends at Abode last October and both the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The more expensive of the two rooms had a bed that would have slept about 6 and both guests reported positively on their two-night stay. The restaurant at the hotel is said to be very good but we actually chose to explore the eateries of Chester for our meals and there is certainly plenty of choice when it comes to restaurants but we all ate a wonderful breakfast on Sunday morning in the hotel dining room with panoramic views of the famous Chester racecourse, The Roodee, in all it's Autumn splendour. The staff were attentive, friendly and professional and I was very pleased to have chosen this hotel for my friends. I would definitely book there again.

Great hotel, great location. Rooms are fabulous and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Highly recommend. The only thing I don't like is that you have to pay extra for parking when the hotel is quite expensive anyway, it just feels like the hotel is being over the top.

I know many hotels do this but it's something I don't like.

A nice place to go but the prices of their drinks at the bar is ridiculous. This place definitely need to drop its drinks prices by 30-40% and people might actually start filling the place on a regular basis!

Fantastic hotel! My girlfriend and I stayed here as a getaway night for her birthday. We were in a 'desirable' room, (211), very spacious, huge comfy bed and a decent view too!

It was our first time in Chester so we decided to explore the city and ate elsewhere but we had a few drinks in the hotel bar in the evening and it was a very relaxed atmosphere and prices weren't too bad considering it was a hotel bar.

The staff were friendly and helpful, recommending places to go/sites to see. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Chester - we had a great time, albeit a short visit!
