Just a pleasant walk (a good hour at a stroll) to see what is in Chester, look down on some pleasant parks, houses etc, and get a sense of its history - Romans, Civil War, Georgian etc and its activities. There are no gates and no fee, so do it when you like - plenty of points to join it , but the most obvious is by the famous clock.

a good stroll around Chester, overlooking the race course and historical buildings. There is a great little coffee stop in the car park by the racecourse which happens to be about halfway around the wall if you start from the central Clock.

A very pleasant and relatively easy walk. The best part is alongside the River Dee. I dread to think how old the walls are, very old and well worn. Plenty of ice cream booths on the way round.

Good way to see Chester but be aware that there is very little shelter - we got a good soaking!!
Worth spending the time to do this.

Two miles of wonderful views, interesting buildings and historic paths, the walls of Chester are a great way to spend an hour or so, wether you like to stroll or march there is lots to see, from the view over the Canal with all the long boats or looking down on the river Dee. The view of the city is amazing, especially looking down from the clock tower which is part of the wall walk , a much recommended attraction to try out and its free.
