What a better way to see Chester, enclosed by the Roman Walls which are almost complete. (Modern road provision has taken small parts of the walls and replaced by a bridge), and down by Chester Castle small elements are missing. A nice gentle walk away from traffic, seeing the towers including King Charles and Water tower. It is possible to break your walk to stop off for a meal or drink any many points, or rest by the River Dee. Plenty of history, plenty of points to stop and rest.
A must for anyone visiting Chester. There are several points on the walk with steps so disabled access would be difficult in some areas, but accessable for other sections, contact Chester Tourst Information for the best access sections (Information at Chester Town Hall in the centre of Chester.

This roman wall circles the whole city center, amazing piece of history.
We walked the whole of the wall which takes you all around the sites of the beautiful city of Chester, good information available all around the wall giving you facts and history to learn, great activity for the whole family, the children really loved it and made me walk it twice!
A definite must on list of things to do in Chester.

Nice walk, not too long. On Saturdays during the warmer seasons, some history group members dress up and allow you into the towers and other areas along the wall that are usually closed, they also give a great history lesson and are very friendly! Although the north part isn't near the shops, the view of the canal and peoples' gardens are quite nice.
