It is a 5 minute walk from the race course, this is an ideal destination for shoppers, race goers and visitors to Chester. At Tropeiro Chester you will always be treated as a friend. Here you can enjoy the very sociable and relaxing Brazilian way of cooking and dining experience. Our restaurant is a great venue for parties, families and intimate meals with its quirky interior and cosy feel this grade two listed building comes alive with the atmosphere of brazil. Our selection of 12 cuts of delectable fire roasted meats is a heavenly treat. All the meats are prepared in the best "Rodizio" tradition, where the particularities of each meat are respected from the seasoning to the cooking time so as to capture their individual flavours perfectly. The skewers are then brought to your table, sliced and served by the gaucho waiters.Bom apetite!

“Good Food but...”

if you ever been in brazil or in a other Brazilian restaurant like the Viva Brazil in Liverpool you will class the Tropeiro just average, however the food was very nice and the service was good.

“Very nearly much better”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

We enjoyed a large (in numbers!) family Sunday lunch at the Tropeiro, which is nicely situated with lovely views of the city from its inviting, open aspect. As others have commented, the Brazilian guys who run it are excellent, and also on the plus side there were some interesting garnishes for the sides . Also a brilliant sausage on the meat menu. And the chicken for me was OK. But here I have to say we move to the downside. Many of the sides unless garnished were just tasteless, and the three other meat courses (lamb, ham and beef) were stringy, tough and as they must have known when collecting the plates, virtually inedible. Perhaps this is how the Brazilians like their meat, but it will not serve the Tropiero's interests to offer it like this in the UK, especially in such a fiercely competitive market and in Chester of all places wehere virtually every other city centre building contains a restaurant.. Others have commented on the high price of drinks, true, and it is annoying to have a table so rocky that these precious liquids spill everywhere. We will not be returning, but I hope these nice guys take this in a spirit of constructive criticism. It will cost nothing to put these points right.

“Definitely not for vegetarians OR perhaps it is”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

It would be daft to do this because the meat is beautifully cooked and tasty, but you could always gorge yourself on the salad bar, the stew or the soups. Don't be misled by the 'all you can eat' idea. It's not a phrase the friendly waitress used but you could if you wanted. But why would you bother! The service was quick, pleasant and friendly and the meat well cooked. If I'm totally honest the chicken had perhaps been warm a bit too long but all the other meats (all 5 of them) were hot, very tasty and kept coming until we said "enough".
A new experience for me but I enjoyed the change of ambience and the idea that - we have it, you want it, so have AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE!
It's genuine. Try it.

“Absolutely perfect.”
Reviewed July 10, 2013 via mobile

Went to tropeiro on Saturday afternoon for a meal with our children as we were celebrating our anniversary, firstly the staff they were lovely and very attentive, especially the young lady who served us. Children under 7 eat free which is brilliant. The salad bar was very nice and well stocked and the meat was brought out regularly all cooked to perfection and delicious. We spent just £32 with drinks for all of us and we were stuffed! Definitely recommended and definitely we will be going back.

“Beautiful meat, too slow to bring it out”
Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

We were starving when we arrived, helped ourselves to side dishes and waited for meat, then waited, then waited some more. You are carved a Small piece of meat then you wait over ten minutes before you're brought any more. I was expecting and hoping to be overloaded with various meats, not the case. Perhaps it was just the night I went, which was quiet but I won't be rushing back!!
