Excellent little B and B on a quiet no-through-road right on the edge of the Dee, while close to city walls, allowing easy access for evening meals, browsing, sightseeing etc. Our host and hostess were always pleasant and friendly, and the choice at breakfast was comprehensive. Our room, with the river view wasn't massive but quite large enough and the bed comfortable. The temperature was also about right for a good night's sleep. It was nice to have a table and chairs in the window so we could watch the ducks and boats on the river while we drank our tea.

I visited with my friend for a 3 night stay in November/December 2013.
We had a wonderful time.
Jane & Peter were so welcoming & helpful and we immediately felt comfortable.
The room overlooked the River Dee and was a decent size with all you need from a B&B.
En-suite room with an additional washbasin in the room, very clean & well thought out.
They even provided different size cups for your tea/coffee or hot chocolate along with bottled water and biscuits.
Breakfast was cooked to order and nicely presented and delicious with lots of choice.
Car parking was on site & if it was slightly awkward at times Peter would happily park the car for us.
10 minutes to stroll to the city centre via one set of steps up to the town.
We're planning our next visit!

Im just back from weekend in Chester with my mum and had a great stay at this lovely little B&B. Set right along side the river the setting is beautiful. Jane and Peter were the perfect hosts and Peter even took the bags up to the room for us, You don't get that in a Premier Inn.

Breakfast was good and had a good selection of cereals and bread for toast, as well as a very well cooked good quality full English.

Beds were very comfortable and the area was very quiet considering its a 2 min walk from the City centre. We had a great nights sleep.

We will be back and a HUGE thanks again to Jane and Peter

Jane and Peter were so welcoming from the start - Jane even helped take the luggage up to the room. We had room 1 with the antique bed, but there was nothing antique about the sleep quality - it was great. The en-suite room is small perhaps, but it's got everything you need and the shower cubicle is plenty big enough for a really comfortable shower. The breakfast was excellent - usual fruit, cereal and juice were available, a toaster to make your own toast as and when, and a cooked breakfast that wasn't too much. I can also heartily recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast. It's location close to the city centre, but next to the river in a quiet residential spot is perfect - just the right distance for a quiet stroll home by the river after an evening out. And great value - we stopped 5 nights at £70 per night, but the full price is only a little more than that at £73 I think, and I would have been more than happy to pay that. We will definitely be going back, and have no hesitation in recommending it anyone else.

Room Tip: Room 1 (double) has a great view of the river. Don't be alarmed at parking on the lawn.

Just got back from a 2 night stay at the Grove Villa. We wanted to book a place we stayed at on our last visit to Chester but it was fully booked and how glad we are it was. A great location by the river, 2 min walk to some good bars and 10 min walk to the centre. Fab place, good value, very friendly, very well looked after and wanted to stay longer. Couldn't fault it!

We love this B&B, perfect location with off street parking, close to all the amenities meant we didn't need to use the car. Lovely quiet location, spotlessly clean with a marvellous breakfast and a lovely en-suite room overlooking the River Dee.
