The Brewery Tap is owned by a farmer who has his own brewery, so there's plenty of good real ale and substantial meals with ingredients mainly from the farm. Charles I stayed in the building before fleeing to France, so there's plenty of atmosphere in the vaulted, tapestry hung main room. The helpings are generous, the food is tasty and the menu varied. There's no tv, but newspapers and magazines if you pop in for a coffee in the morning. A great place to drink, meet a friend for coffee, or have a meal.
