“Fantastic location”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

I have stayed in Chester before but wanted somewhere more central. This Premier Inn had it all- located by the river, a short walk into the city centre, a pub next door and a good range of restaurants on the doorstep. I went with 5 friends. We had an evening meal in the Premier Inn and breakfast. They offered meal deals as an option too. All of the staff from the receptionists to the chamber maids were very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them. I shall definitely visit this Premier Inn again and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Room Tip: A room at the back of the hotel is advisable for a quieter stay as I would imagine that rooms at the...

good place to stay and in an ideal location for chester. my only complaint is that we had a shower not a bath in the room. apparently you have to request what you want but it doesnt tell you this online. i was offered another room but i had already unpacked everything and it was on a different floor. Also the bed was massive which was great but it was 2 single beds put together and so you couldnt sleep in the middle as there was a ridge in the bed.

This location is about 400 yards from the railway station, and about the same to the city centre. The staff were fantastic, the food was good. Would recommend as a place to stay but try not to be at the front of the hotel as it is noisy

Seven couples arrived for a weekend break and we were all checked into our rooms within five minutes. The first impression was that the hotel was stylish and immaculate. The rooms are exactly what it says on the tin, beds and pillows exceptional, shower powerful with plenty of hot water, tea & coffee making facilities fine and a good selection of channels available on the tv. The hotel is situated at the end of the road which leads to the railway station and is a pleasant five minute walk along the canal to the centre which has a great number of chain stores and independent shops. Alternatively there is a subway a hundred yards down the road which takes you to the end of the main shopping street in a similar amount of time.
The breakfast was superb value for money, with an all you can eat arrangement priced at £8.25. There was a selection of fruit juices, cereals, breads for toast, croissants and on the hot plate, good quality back bacon, sausage, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes and if there was something extra required you only had to ask.
Without exception the staff were superb, I requested an iron and the receptionist brought it to my room immediately. Special thanks to Magda & Maurice who kept us fed.
Thanks for making our weekend one to remember.
Premier Inn will be first on my list for any future UK accomodation requirements.

Stayed here with my husband for a Friday and Saturday evening in March. The hotel is in a very good location for the city centre shops and bars and restaurants but there is also lots going on close by the hotel if you don't want the short walk (5 to 10 mins under subway) into the very centre of Chester. Check in was efficient, we were allocated a room on the second floor. The room was a decent size very clean everything worked well, firm but comfy bed. Tea and coffee making facilities provided and basic soaps in bathroom. We had a good nights sleep both nights with minimal noise experienced. We had pre booked the breakfast which is provided in the ground floor bar/restaurant. Both mornings we were served by Maurice and Magda who deserve a mention for their warm greeting and the way they treated the guests so helpfully and politely. Breakfast was very good, good selection of hot and cold food from the buffet, fresh fruit salad was very nice and real coffee from Costa type coffee machine. Sunday breakfast was much busier than Saturday but both days we didn't have a wait to be served. The Hotel does have a small car park but as this was full we parked a few minutes down the road (before the station) at Crewe St which cost around £3 for 24 hours. There is a very good Indian restaurant directly across the road called the Gate of India, we have been there before. Serve huge portions so best to share (really!) it does get busy but food very good. Also nice bar across the road called the Cellar with live music Fridays and Saturdays worth a look in to see who is on. Saturday night we ate at Upstairs at the Grill which is a very nice steak house would recommend. We are regular visitors to Chester and have stayed at many of the city centre hotels but honestly for a quick shopping break this was excellent value for money and would return.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor in an inward facing room which was quiet

Absolutely no complaints. The whole process very easy. Short walk from the station. Efficient check-in. Very clean room with everything you need. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Very quiet and the hotel seems to understand that people want to sleep so the doors do not slam and signs ask guests to be considerate. Breakfast buffet excellent and atmosphere in restaurant comfortable.

My husband and I spent one night here on 10th March. The hotel was easy to find and the train station car park fairly close by. The only annoying aspect of the car park was having to walk out of the way to drop off luggage there in the morning then doubling back past the hotel to get into the city centre.

The room was clean and much like any other Premier Inn room. The location is just excellent - a few minutes walk into town via a well lit underpass. I paid £19 for a room and I just couldn't be convinced that a hotel costing five times this amount would be any better in terms of location and convenience.

I don't usually pay extra for hotel breakfasts however my husband likes a full English. At £8 a head it felt very good value and I was surprised by the variety, quantity and quality of food.
