Excellent service very clean room with tea, scones and the best smile ever from Mercedes to greet us. We were in the annexe, a converted garage that was really well furnished if a little unusual in layout. Breakfast was good but a little overcooked

We arived very late but was warmly welcomed. The house is tastefully and expensively decorated and the personal touches make it different from others we have stayed in. like the single flower and the welcome card our room. The shower gel and shampoos in the bathroom and the home made preserves, and yoghurt for breakfast and the classical music playing quietly in the background whilst in the dining room. The breakfast was lovely it even had a sprinkle of parsley on the cooked tomatoe another little touch. The hosts, who had only been their for a month, were lovely and very efficient. and the room although a little small very comfy. Chester is lovely,. Will definately reccommend.

Holly House Guest House really is the best place to stay when visiting Chester. I stayed for a period of 5 weeks in total and enjoyed not only the tasty breakfast but also the warm atmosphere created by Balu and Mercedes. The self-made scones are awsome. The host and hostess will do pretty much everything to make your stay a pleasant one. I sure will be back :)

Our 2nd visit to Holly House, and just as pleasant as our 1st visit. We took our two young children this time and once again stayed in the annex. Perfect for a small family (if the kids don't mind sharing a single bed?) Breakfast delicious and always nice to be greeted with tea and scones. We'll be back again same time next year!

Stayed for one night Feb 2013, we were made very welcome with tea/coffee and scones on arrival. Our twin room was very comfortable, clean and well equiped.with tv, dvd (and dvd's) tea/coffee making facilities as well as bottled water. The ensuite facilities in the room did not include a shower which may be a problem to some but as we were only there one night this wasn't a problem The guest house is in a good quiet location (slightly off the main road so very little traffic noise) with plenty of parking and the city is only a 10 to 15 minute walk or there is a main bus route at the end of the road. Breakfast was the only downside as it appeared to have been prepared earlier and then kept warm but overall we would still recommend this as a place to stay to see Chester.

Me and a friend stayed at the Holly House guest house for a birthday celebration and chose to stay in the annex which was just perfect. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious and were lovely to come back to after a night out. We had a lovely greeting on arrival and were even offered tea and scones. Chester is not far away at all so it is ideal for getting to the shops and back but it is also not too expensive in taxis. We woke early the next day for breakfast where we had an array of cereals, home made jams and fruit juices followed by a cooked breakfast which was a lovely start to the day. My friend even requested a different type of milk which was no problem and was bought in especially! We would definitely recommended the Holly House to anyone looking for a stay in Chester and we will definitely be visiting again ourselves! Overall a great trip!

Room Tip: The annex was ideal in particular for us because we didn't want to disturb everyone else staying...
