Stayed in the travelodge opposite and at first sight it didnt look like much from the outside. The weather was poor and we didn't want to walk far so decided to give it a go. They do a Sunday banquet for £7.95 and we opted for this. For the money we got poppadoms and pickle tray, a choice of starter ( try the chilli kebab, really good) and a curry with rice. The food was very good and I would revisit. The bottled beer is a rip off but the draft beers are better priced. We were the only two people in the restaurant so don't be put off it it looks empty

The Bombays a bit of an institution in Chester, Aaron & Mr Ramsey are full of down to earth wit, the food awesome and the ambiance is of an old school Indian, Ive been going to the Bombay for years, and have had some funny post pub meals listening to Mr Ramseys anecdotes and listening to the banter flaot around the place, it can also be a quiet place to enjoy a meal on a week night...do yourself a favour and try it out, not as jazzy as some of the refurbed Indians in town but do you really want laminate floors and halogen lights illuminating every wart on your mates face while you eat? GO!

Hello, my wife and I along with family had a two day visit to Chester and we did leave our hotel a little late in the evening to try some real ales and then a curry. What was interesting was that we all peered but walked on by when we looked at Bombay Palace. It did not jump out to us and we continued a little more trials on the real ale trail! Having walked around town and viewed the competition that had availability we ended up walking back towards our hotel and in fairness to the restaurant there was a load of road works that distracted.

Never the less we entered mid evening and had a pleasant find. The Bombay Palace had 'booths' which gave a private feeling to our table but the service was so attentive to our individual needs and without question it delivered. All of our table were pleased with the house wine selection, the layout of the 'no hidden costs' menu' and like earlier reviewers my wife and I are regular consumers of what this restaurant had on offer.

My selection was a medium-hot dish and the chicken was beautiful and plentiful. The food was worth the walk and the wait around town and if there is one thing to do when in Chester is to go and find Bombay Palace amongst the changes that Chester is under going and then try it - Thanks Bombay Palace - Aaron and team for a fabulous meal and service.
