“Try the dough nuts!”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

Looking at the other reviews on this page, I thought that we may have gone to another St Catherines. Still, thinking about it I suppose that it is some time since we actually had a meal there. However, the doughnuts are still superb. Had some sandwiches for lunch yesterday and they were the best we have found since arriving in Jersey 10 days ago. Fresh bread, thick cheese filling with chunky tomato, presented in a box with a crisp moist salad garnish. The standard of the lunch snacks on this island has deteriorated significantly over recent years, but not it seems to us, at the St Catherine's cafe.

“Exceptionally Disappointing!”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

Staff, food and decor ...quite rude and abrupt, mainly greasy food and the decor needs updating respectively, it is a beautiful spot for a cafe though as the surroundings are very scenic. Locals seem to go there.

“A disappointing return visit”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

We have visited this cafe many times over the last 30 years, and although it was nothing out of the ordinary it was always tidy and friendly. We called in recently in the morning, it was not very busy as it was not a particularly warm day, but the person serving was very brusque and when asked if they served cappucino replied, No. Waiting for an alternative to be suggested ,after a long silence I was told, Tea, Coffee or Hot Chocolate.Selecting and paying for 2 coffees we took our seats at the inside tables, and what seats! The most tatty set of upholstered seats that I have seen in many a year. Ripped and grubby fabric says a lot. We will not be back. I can only suppose it has changed hands.

“Food swimming in fat”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

If you like your cooked breakfast swimming in fat come here. Everything apart from the beans and eggs are thrown in the deep fat fryer then leave a lovely pool of fat on your plate. Food is poor cafe is grotty!

“Choice has gone downhill but still popular with the locals”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

We have come to this cafe ever since we started visiting Jersey and used to love it, but lately the choice of food available seems to have diminished slightly.

The place is very popular with locals and tourists alike and sometimes it's so busy that the queue is out of the door, so be prepared to wait a while!

There are seats inside and outside and a small-ish car park. Very basic public toilets outside in the car park but convenient for a walk along the breakwater and lovely views out to sea.
