Our second visit to the Braye Beach was like returning to the luxurious home of old friends. Richard and the staff made every effort to meet all our requests, finding time to share our island experiences and offer good advice. They went the extra mile by setting up a special poignant exhibition for our group and organising and hosting a special gathering at the harbourside. The facilities of the hotel are first-class and the location beside the beach is perfect. Memories of falling asleep to the gentle swashing of the waves and being softly woken by the sun shining over the beach and filtering into our room, are to be treasured. We look forward to returning next year. Thank you all. Kevin & Annie

Kevin and Annie, it was lovely to see you again, I regard this as a special time of the year and love to see my friends who are relatives from HMS Affray, they make running this hotel even more pleasurable. Thanks look forward to next year. Richard

We found the hotel very comfortable, clean and welcoming. The room had a lovely sea view, with a very comfortable bed and complimentary sherry! The food was delicious and plenty, I did enjoy my smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast and the service was very good. The manager Richard was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Marie the receptionist was very friendly and excellent with her advice on places to see. Even about collecting the key for the German WW11 tower from the Information Centre in St. Anne's.

Room Tip: Go for a seaview room.

We were actually visiting Guernsey but decided to nip across to Alderney for 24 hrs . (We actually ended up staying for 48 hrs as the airport was fogged in). We really did enjoy our two nights at Braye Beach Hotel. Reception was expecting us an we were given a quick guided tour of the facilities, On night one, we were in a twin room without a sea view, but that did not matter as it was exceptionally clean and the bed linen fresh and crisp. Rooms are well equipped with flat screen TV, tea, coffee, biccies, bottled water and - wait for it - a complimentary decanter of sherry! Our room on night 2 had a wonderful sea view and was equally well appointed. The public areas are comfortable and there is a small in house cinema which has leather armchairs and arms wide enough to support a beer or a gin and tonic. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. Choices were varied and reasonably priced. The General Manager, Richard, is a thoroughly amenable and welcoming host who enjoys a chat and is clearly keen to please. The bottom line is that if you want a really relaxed couple of days on a small friendly island with not much going on, then this is the hotel for you. The staff are professional and courteous and nothing is too much trouble. Walking, relaxing, reading and enjoying some peace and quiet are the activities of choice here.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a sea view.

And while you're about it, pay the extra and get a room with a sea view. We really liked this hotel for it's cleanliness and friendliness. We had an outstanding dinner for £25 a head and a good bottle of rose for £15. In the bar, a diet coke and a J2O for £3.60. Surprisingly good value. Clearly well managed with a General Manager very much in evidence communicating with his guests in an easy, friendly way. This is a really good hotel in a lovely location.

In Braye Harbour in Alderney on my boat recently and visited the Braye Beach for a meal with two members of my family. I had previously stayed there but on this occasion we were made extremely welcome and comfortable as visiting yachties. We had an excellent three course set meal for £25 a head. For my money this is the best port of call for all yachties visiting Alderney. They can still have a pint in the Divers next door which ia also owned by the Braye Beach.

Don't be deceived by outside appearances. This hotel is an absolute GEM!

Tasteful, modern decor and a clean, cosy and friendly atmosphere. The staff, managed by Richard, are friendly and attentive and happliy provide a faultless service.

Our room, (22), was clean, comfortable, light and airy with beatufull views across the sand bay to the old fortifications on the other side.

And the food? ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!
