We've eaten in the 'new' Swan on the River a couple of times now, and popped in for the odd drink. We've lived just down the road in the village for c. 7 years, and have seen this place 1. dirty and empty 2. closed 3. refurbed and empty and now 4. loved and busy. So all I would say is good luck guys!

Last time we ate here was for my birthday in December 2012, staff were great with young daughter, food was good and service excellent.

I drive past the Swan every day, and it's great to see lunchtimes with people in, but even better to see full car park at weekends, it feels like the village has a good breath of life in it for people who want good food.

I visited this pub in the dark days when it was a fairly down to earth place to go.Returning, I would have sworn on a stack of bibles that I had never been there before. The decor is superb and not at all overstated. The service was excellent, friendly and always there at the right time. The food was beautifully served, and very tasty; I had the tiger prawns, Ali had the terrine with salmon and avocado which was very rich but gorgeous. We both had the belly pork which was truly crisp and truly tasty served with decent vegetables and a tasty gravy. The whole menu is very well priced . None of the food is particularly innovative, but what is done is done to a very high standard. Can't think of any down sides- come the summer with a position by the river the place deserves to be buzzing with people.

The food here is really very good indeed. The menu is nice and varied, without being overly long, and there are daily specials. The dining room is modern and pleasant, and nicely relaxed without being too informal. The waiting staff were friendly, and there when you needed them without being intrusive. The food came out within a reasonable timeframe: as quickly as could be expected given that it's actually being cooked properly! The food is very good value for money, especially considering the high quality cooking on offer - not really much more expensive than Nando's! I'd say to anyone that it's definitely worth a detour to visit this place, and we'll definitely be back.

We went here last year and was pleasantly surprised. It had only been open a week or so having had a make over. It lovely inside. Contemporary and welcoming. The staff were attentive and the food was beautifully cooked.
Real log fires in the bar area (which is where we ate) and comfortable tables overlooking the river in the restaurant area. There is decking by the river which would be a lively place to sit on a summer day or evening.
