Staying at hotel du vin and looking for Indian food in a city covered in Indian restaurants. Pipasha was recommended by our cab driver from the station and by trip advisor. Taxi from town was around seven pounds and around five minutes. At first we were amused at the quaint looking restaurant which seemed to be a converted tea room or a pub, but once at our table (we'd booked and it was full) we ordered two popadoms and got given three, the lassi was exquisite although we'd like it even spicier and the main courses were phenomenal. The restaurant is billed as bangladeshi / Indian and you might expect broad brushstroke vanilla food but they also had dishes typical of khyber and goa. The dishes were quite large - we couldn't finish them - the naam was light and the saagaloo was the best thing we ate. The bill for two including beer came to £40 and the service was informative, friendly and unobtrusive. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other Londoners coming to Cambridge. Incidentally, Cambridge people coming to London, please check out roti chai in marble arch!!
