Eleven of us, including five children, went for dinner on Saturday. On arrival the welcome was good and we were seated out of the way which suited us. Service was generally good and fairly quick given our numbers. However, Loch Fyne could look at a couple of things in our view. The children ordered off the 2 course set menu, two ordering King Prawn Tagliatelle Provençale. One had two prawns, the other had one. We mentioned this to the staff and an extra two prawns were provided. We were told the specification for this dish is....two prawns. Not sure why it's called King Prawn Tagliatelle really. Several of us ordered the Tempura Battered Squid for our starter at £6.35. We all received four tiny (I mean tiny) pieces of squid, barely two mouthfuls. I'm not a fan of huge staters but this was a mean portion. No doubt as per the specification though. When paying we were asked if we had enjoyed the meal. I said that the food was fine but the portions were extremely small, in particular the squid and prawn dishes. I was told I was welcome to my opinion to which I replied 'If you don't want to know, don't ask'. Overall, the meal was ok and some of it was very nice. Other dishes were a little disappointing, This restaurant is ok but there are plenty of other choices in Cambridge.
