“Good Pizza”
Reviewed May 2, 2013

I had a Calzone which was very good. The service was prompt but I felt the wine was very expensive for the quality. A large glass of Chianti was £7.65. The food though was sensibly priced

“So much more than a margherita”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

I've been to La Margherita a few times, and they never fail to impress. They are able to create the right atmosphere, no matter how large the group or whatever the occasion. The old building really muffles the acoustics, giving an intimate and relaxed setting. Some of the furnishings upstairs are a bit drab and out-moded, but the main seating area downstairs is vibrant and stylish.

The food here is of a high standard, though unless you are incredibly enthusiastic about Italian food it can be a little unimaginative. The ice cream, however, is second to none and definitely worth a try even if that's the only thing you eat.

The service is polite and friendly, but not over-attentive.

Three courses + 1/2 bottle + 10% came to about £31/head (we had the house red, which was eminently drinkable).

“Relaxing place for lunch”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

Having seen this restaurant from the park and ride bus the several times I've driven to Cambridge each year, I thought it about time to try it out. It was very quiet this lunch time and I was able to take my time and enjoy the excellent glass of red and the day's special risotto--chicken, peppers, mushrooms. The creme caramel was as good as I've eaten (including my own). I judge a restaurant by its espresso (sad but true). It was very good--nice crema. The restaurant is very close to the house at Kettle's Yard which opens at 14:00; so from one relaxing place you can stroll to a small museum, sit down in one of their many chairs and gaze at the modern art.

“Best Italian in Cambridge”
Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

Been coming here for 17 years, easily the best Italian in Cambridge. Great attitude and reasonable prices. Food is excellent and the location is convenient for both parking and if you want to head into the town afterward.
