“Quailty food, prepared with care with real ale on tap.”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

This has quickly become our favourite restaurant in Cambridge, it has only been open a matter of weeks and we have been there 3 times for dinner and once for lunch. The Brunswick is in the building that used to be The Bird In Hand pub. It has been completely gutted and remodelled into a modern restaurant. It is hard to picture how the old pub used to be. The old bar is gone and has been moved to the back of the building, there is now a tap room behind the bar where they have an ever changing selection of real ales. Each time we have found the staff friendly and helpful. The food is excellent, varied and of a very high quality but is freshly prepared so if you are expecting a large menu, with every cooking style under the sun, this place is not for you. The menu changes every two weeks and is published on the restaurants website, so you can see what is on offer before you go. I would particularly recommend the fillet steak, It is not the cheapest place to have dinner or lunch in Cambridge but it is very good value for money considering the quality of the meals. The Brunswick seems to have fallen under the radar and has not been busy when we have visited which I find surprising, I notice that they have several offers available on their website that make the meals even better value and are currently even offering a free pick up and drop off service for any confirmed dinner booking within 3 miles of the restaurant (it is in the news section, June 2013, of their website).

“Very Interesting”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

This is a brand new restaurant in Cambridge and I had dinner here the other evening. The Wild Boar was fantastic. I have to say the place was quiet but I was in on a Wednesday and the whole area was quiet. The Brunswick is just down the road from the Travelodge on Newmarket Rd and if you are staying there it is well worth the short walk. The table next to me were raving about their Steaks. All the food seems to be local and fresh which is always a good sign.
Staff were really pleasant and service was good. They supplied complimentary bread and olives which is a nice touch. The prices were very reasonable, I was surprised by the quality and value. I have eaten at Midsummer House several times which is a two star Michelin restaurant (and fantastic) but the food at The Brunswick was really at a high standard. No problem recommending this to fellow travellers. Good luck to team Brunswick.

The resturant is bright and large they had great music playing.
I cant get over how great the food was way better than i expected. The photos speak for themselves. Great value for money.
They also serve cocktails, wines and ales
