Good to see this pub reopen under new management. Milton Brewery have worked hard to create a "local" without resorting to the usual sports TV and fruit machines, preferring to focus on real ale and home cooked food. A revamped garden is a nice addition and in true Cambridge style there are more bike racks than car park spaces.

Milton beers are good and well kept, with a nice range of styles and strengths. There are also several guest beers on offer, plus the usual selection of bottled beers and other drinks, including a limited but good choice of wines and malt whiskeys. Interesting Italian style menu. Food very tasty, although portion sizes seem to vary and ours could have been hotter, although this could have been due to the fire alarm going off! Very friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.

All in all, a promising re-birth for this "village" pub - hoping it will go from strength to strength. Please resist adding TVs and other distractions - there's plenty of places to go for people who want that sort of entertainment.

This pub reopened a couple of months ago and us, Chesterton residents, were quite hopeful about this new place. It's owned by Milton Brewery and they serve their own ales, which are quite good. But whenever we tried guest ales, these were not as nice; guest ales also change very fast. At the opening they had great cloudy cider and I think it's still available. Staff are very nice and the interiors are good, just there is no charm left because of refurbishment. Even so, they did a great job at bringing this pub back to life and they tried hard to make it. There is also a charming 'room' which fits 6-8 people sitting at a long and very narrow table, that spot is so popular! There just aren't enough tables on some evenings.

Tried the pizza (advertised as prepared by a Sicilian chef) and it's a good try, but it just feels they are not using the right ingredients. It's a bit dry and the ham is not great. Nevertheless, it's better than chain pizzerias in the area.

Overall, good enough for a pub, maybe it will get better in the future!
