A good variety of ethnic stores and restaurants. Bicycles everwhere and a nice college feel.

Cambridge is small, so please understand that Mill Road from the Parkers piece end is just a few hundred yards of shops that then becomes residential. However in that small distance there is a pulse which is a little bit of Notting Hill (before the Trust Fund kids tarted it up) / Brighton quirky / SoHo-Tribeca funky / Old Street / Cambridge nerdy/anti-fashion.

Great second hand stores. Best range of restaurants and foody stores. Recent scars have been Costa Coffee and the arrival of some boring supermarket metro stores. The local council would not listen and wanted to mess up the idiosyncratic atmosphere.

Some good pubs close by are the Salisbury Arms (Tenison Road), Cambridge Blue and Devonshire Arms.

Most of the roads south of it are full of the Uni Profs and Hospital Consultants and north of it the same+the artists and students.

Most people when they arrive in Cambridge Station walk up Tenison road and then turn left onto Mill Road to goto Parkers Piece. That is Mill Road - make sure you take a look.

Heading off from Parker's Piece is this rather grubby but very atmospheric part of Cambridge. Mix of locals and students and is the best place to buy real Chinese, Korean and other Asian ingredients from the stores there. Shop around as the same ingredient can be markedly cheaper in one store than another.
