One of the best stretches of river anywhere. You can go for a long walk along the Cam or travel in a punt. Lots of pubs and restaurants along the way to explore and many fabulous sights to behold.

We visited the cam and went punting with Rutherford’s. Thoroughly recommend, we had a wonderful afternoon. Very beautiful and a lot of local history.

It is hard to believe that this bridge was originally built with no nuts, no bolts, The legend says that Sir Isaac Newton built the bridge to illustrate the principles and properties of force and gravity.

Unfortunately, it is a shame that after Newton’s death, the students/fellows of Cambridge University, who were curious to learn about the exquisite structure of the clever wooden bridge. But they failed to re-assemble it properly. As a result, they could not put together the original bridge again, and therefore, had to use iron pins, nuts and bolts to make the bridge functioning again. However, it is still a beautiful bridge.

Lucky enough to visit the river in late autumn afternoon. The conditions were perfect, mild weather and soft afternoon light. Swans, ducks gliding by and perfect river reflections.

The walk from Newmarket Road park and ride to the centre of Cambridge along the river is a delight. So many different things to see.

This is a must see and one of the highlights of the trip.
Best way to see the city is to join a punting trip and it’s well worth the money.

Loved punting down the cam. Our guide was very knowledgeable though a few of his 'facts' were not quite right. But real history in a truly amazing place. Good fun to watch students try punting themselves and make a complete mess of it. Also saw a married couple in full dress with their family drinking champagne, whats not too like!
