Superb bed and breakfast accommodation, excellent rooms and excellent service. Would have no hesitation to return or to recommend this delightful bed and breakfast. Well placed in the beautiful city of Cambridge for a very pleasurable stay.

We were in rooms # 1&3, both are tastefully decorated. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms modernised. Free wifi is provided (and it works, unlike the other hotels we stayed in during this trip). Breakfast is superb. Do try their homemade honey. Hosts are very nice, soft spoken couple. Room #3 is on second floor overlooking the backyard so it's nice and quiet. Number 1 is at the front so you have less privacy there if you open the curtain.
There's a shortcut from the B&B to city centre, a nice walk across a small bridge then through the park. Many pubs nearby if you don't feel like going into town for a meal.
Highly recommended B&B!

Room Tip: Room number 3 is a larger room (than number 1, that is) and is in the back so it's quieter.

Very good B & B, nice and clean, room No5 was a good size with a lovely bathroom and an amazing shower, nicely decorated, very modern, however if you have this room there is a bit of traffic noise as its at the front of the house which in on a main road, still a nice room though. There are other rooms at the back which are quieter. Breakfast is very pleasant indeed, fresh fruit, homemade bread and full monty English well cooked and presented. Easy and enjoyable walk into the beautiful city of Cambridge. Would stay here again.

Very sharp & clean b&b. Modern smart environment. Great breakfasts and very attentive hosts. A little surprised the bed wasn't remade ( we had done it ourselves mind) and the towels weren't changed or at least folded up away again. Would definetly return though. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. PS very good fast WiFi.

well presnted b&b. the rooms are large and quiet. both the bedroom and bathroom have all you need when staying. coffee, selection of teas, biscuits, comfortable beds, freeview flatscreen tv. the bathroom has quality soaps etc so no need to bring your own.
the breakfast can not be faulted. fresh fruit and i mean fresh not freshly opened tins. cereals, juices, toast and full breakfast which includes 3 slices of bacon, 2 eggs, home made potato cakes, beans, mushrooms, tomatos and so on.
the place is about 10-15mins walk to the town and all the sites. you can walk via a park or along the river most of the way.
the hosts are both friendly and informative when help is required.
would not hesitate to stay here again. don't delay book today.the website is very user friendly and choose your room. so easy.

Room Tip: on a big but not appear busy main road but go for room at the back.

The owners of Lynwood House set a standard for Bed and Breakfast in Cambridge which in my experience no others come near. It has been beautifully decorated with state of the art shower rooms, is very friendly and the breakfast comes with lots of healthy options as well as "full English". I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough - it is definitely my first choice in Cambridge.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

I am starting to stay in Cambridge for business on a reasonably regular basis, and for me Cambridge hotels are either too expensive, characterless or simply completely sub-standard. I have tried a number of B&Bs now in the north of Cambridge (easy access for the science parks) and this is the best yet. The terraced Victorian property appears to have had a proper refurb, to the point where my bathroom was easily better than some 5 star hotels I have recently stayed in. Nick and Julie, as hosts, are friendly and helpful as well as the providers of a great selection of breakfast options. The full english is lovely, but I prefer smoked haddock/poached egg or salmon omelette. Highly recommended.
