I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting family in Cambridge and it was an amazing experience. The welcome staff in the porter's lodge were very friendly and helpful and had a genuine interest in my visit. The accommodation was basic but had everything you needed - tea/coffee facilities, fridge, toiletries, towels and most importantly a comfortable bed with adequate bedding. When I sent my friend a photo, they loved the paraquet flooring and traditional nature of the rooms. The location is very central, which some people might not like but I loved it. The breakfast in the traditional dining hall was amazing and served all tastes from full cooked breakfast to fruit, pastries and cereal. The gardens were beautiful and peaceful and the historic buildings were lovely and took my breath away. Great value for money for location and food and extremely welcoming atmosphere. Only disappointment was I didn't find Cromwell's head - maybe next time when I visit!
